I'm currently doing a play though of Pokemon FireRed. I'm actually up to rock tunnel, but i thought it would be nice to start at the beginning and draw a few key moments from the run so far. This is the Core of my team.

Charmander is traditionally a poor pick given the typing of the first too gyms, but not so much in FireRed. A Mankey can be caught outside the gates to the Pokemon league on route 22 to deal with Brock and, with a little patience, a Pikachu can be found in Viridian Forrest to deal with Misty. Together they compensate for Charmander's weaknesses, making the start of the game a bit smoother ready for Charmander to shine in the late game.
