One day at school Donna saw an older boy knock the books out of a girl's hands and taunt her. Donna quickly moved between the girl and the bully, telling him "If you're going to pick on someone then pick on me and leave her alone!"
The bully looked angry but backed down. Maybe deep down he was a coward or maybe he knew that Donna's dad was a cop, but whatever the reason he left the two girls alone.
Donna helped the other girl gather her books and learned her name was Corelia. After talking for a bit they found out they both would be in the same class room together. They quickly became close friends and were almost inseparable.
