Darman Viulf is descended from Dan'eel Viulf, a Mandalorian drill instructor who helped to train members of the clone army prior to and during the Clone Wars. Darman is part of an elite fighting unit known as the Mandalorian Executioners. The Executioners are known for fighting very dirty in combat, even using berserker tactics. Darman and a fellow Mandalorian Executioner named Venku Sondar have formed a romantic relationship during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of known space. The two men fought side by side when the Vong attacked the planet of Mandalore and both of them received Jag Eyes on their helmets as a sign of valor after the conflict ended.
