How to Play: Read the comic and then choose in the strawpoll link below what Tanya should do next.
Make sure to pay attention to Tanya's Stats. Charm determines how easily Tanya can sway others and cause them to do her bidding through seduction or other means. Stomach shows how hungry she is. If her meter gets too low, the quest may be railroaded, or Tanya doing something opposite of what the majority of people voted for. Vigor is vital for Tanya to do certain tasks that may require more effort than normal. Vigor can be seen as a combination of energy and mood.
There are also Current Sounds to keep in mind. Tanya is a rabbit with large ears! This means she uses her hearing almost constantly to remain aware of her surroundings. Current sounds can give a hint as to whether you should be careful in a specific situation or can do activities freely.
I'm looking for a lot of participation with this quest, so please chip in! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

You gotta warn Java about Jabaro before he strikes, there are too many questions that need answering and you cant do that if Jabaro strikes. This is a tough situation but we need more pieces to fit the puzzle. Java seems peaceful and gave us good information already which some of it makes sense. We have to warn Java of his presence before it is too late. Try to get Java to subdue Jabaro first, for questioning.
Yeah, like for example, Jabaro said that Java ate some and drag the rest of a group away. This is despite the fact that we saw foot tracks along those snake lines, not drag marks. http://www.furaffinity.net/full/21148933/
Then there's the fact that we're not knocked unconscious nor paralysed.
And then there's the fact he isn't even looking at us for even a brief moment.

And then there's the fact he isn't even looking at us for even a brief moment.
It makes sense to sneak up on her like that though... but the frightened moment happened to be the one in which provoked Kuva to go fuck it and run on ahead. And then there's the ill and shaken moment which seem convenient enough to make Tayna run ahead to Kuva's screams.
Seems awfully convenient.
Seems awfully convenient.
Warn. Jarbo is suddenly so brave, that already seems off. Yeah, Java would have eaten Tanya, Kuva as well, and with all this info that Jarbo knows about Java, wouldn't you find it off that Kuva knew nothing of her and yet Jarbo knew so much. I feel like you were just a distraction, heads up Java!
If Java is a snake, which she certainly most definitely appears to be, she can sense vibrations really well through her body, particularly through the ground and air. so she should already know jaburo is in fact there. ( unless I'm assuming wrong )
anyway, so it looks like we can't trust jab, but that doesn't mean we should trust this snake either, after all, we just met her, and the first thing she did was try to attack us. we shouldn't let our guard down.
honestly, we don't know what to believe anymore, and should shout as much, protesting that this snake could be lying just as much to her as jaburo.

I would not blame her when Kuva rushed in ahead of us and tried to attack Java. A cheetah much like the assassin Java described.
So of course she is going to attack perceived enemy that may be the cheetah's ally. There is still the question of why didn't she kill us or Kuva right after grabbing us.
It makes no sense why she would not eat and/or kill both Kuva and Tanya when she has the chance.

Hrmmm, this is all too confusing, granted there were clothes lying around along with the snake tracks but suddenly someone who was absolutely terrified of this Java is trying an ambush attack. There aren't enough pieces of the puzzle here. I'd say stop both of them and try to get a proper explanation out of one of them. Their accounts are obviously going to differ so we'll need to use the evidence we found up to this point to determine if one of them is lying or not. Ugh this is confusing!
This is a tricky call given the situation shes in, I think we should expose Jabaro before he makes things potentially worse for not only Tanya but Kuva as well, something like "Failed attempts? Care to elaborate Jabaro?" also might want to mention you're just tagging along cause they asked.
This also makes me wonder if Jabaro setup Kuva on her pounce on tanya earlier, or if it was just a lil grudge Kuva had herself.

this brings up more questions than answers.
where are the villagers?
where is the cheetah cub?
why is jabaro trying to kill java?
if jabaro is an assassin, who hired him to kill java for what reason, unless jabaro made the cub disappear and blame it on java and play tanya and kuva as patsys...
just some possible theories.
as for the current situation,we should de-escalate the situation and find the truth.

How about instead doing something stupid like giving away Jabaro's position, we do the smart thing by reminding him of why we're here by asking Java where the cheetah cub is? If that doesn't get him to back off, then we can kick his ass.
Everyone here is way too trusting, which is an easy way for Fidchell, the quest giver, to trick us into a game over! Just because Java tells us something, doesn't mean she's telling the truth! Honestly, she tells us one thing and everyone goes "Oh, she's quite obviously the victim! Let's listen to everything she says, no questions asked!" Java saying, "I'm going to take her away for questioning." could be another way of saying, "I'm going to eat her later, once I'm back in the safety of my lair."
And just because Jabaro "suddenly got brave" doesn't mean he's the enemy! He's using something called strategy! He sees an opening to strike and so he's going in to exploit an opening! And he's wearing what's called a "brave face", while probably trying really hard to not shit himself in fear!

I dont agree.
I am not saying I trust Java but I also dont trust Jabaro. We don't know anything about those two so you can't take any sides. All those rumors that Jabaro said may as well be false, a way for him to have you fight for him. If we allow Jabaro to slay Java, then the only truth we will know is Jabaro's and Java's will be lost. By warning Java, not only will we be free of her tail, but Jabaro will also be subdued and we will be in a position to start asking questions and getting straight answers. Don't take the whole "I'm going to take her away for questioning." as an excuse for vore. It is normal for her to do that since she knows that the pair has been traveling together. She suspects that Kuva is in on the assassination plan and wants to know who is behind this and why. This was all part of Jabaro's plan that Tayna and Kuva would get captured so that he can have the opportunity to kill her. Tayna and Kuva are expendable resources, he doesnt care if you two are killed, he just cares about his target. Java may not know what happen to the children, it may very well be Jabaro that did it to get Kuva to join him and be his bait.
So I don't trust Java and Jabaro but between either of the two options, warning Java is the best one because it will lead to straight answers.

"Straight answers", ha! That's a good one! More like a contest of who can tell a more convincing lie to get Tanya on their side.
Even if we get them both to talk, there's no guarantee that either of them will tell the truth. They'll only tell you what you want to hear in order to get your help and then turn around and eat you when you're no longer needed.

There's the question of how did the cheetahs' lose the cub in the first place which seems awfully hard given how they watch over them.
And Java should've outright eaten or drag both Kuva and Tanya off, especially Kuva as she may had no idea if others were nearby or even close to help her. So why even bother talking to Tanya instead of knocking her unconscious and slithering off with Kuva? Hell, even if it is some plan to reveal Jabaro, it is still kinda pointless given how easily she overpowered us and Kuva with relative ease.
Also, Jabaro's info doesn't match some of the display of Java's prowess: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/21192674/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21148933 like there no anthro drag marks near the snakes and we were not knocked unconscious before she arrived.
He also had a few questionable moments like wanting our sword which is conveniently quite big and strong enough looking to hurt Java, the fact that he was somehow dumb enough to not recongize what is blatantly vomit, bile and acid when Kuva puked Tanya up, and the fact that it seems a little to convenient that he freaks out for Kuva to get predictably rash and run ahead which could be a good distraction for Kuva.
Java I imagine must've pissed someone off to want them to kill her, so is not likely to be innocent nor entirely trustworthy, but Jabaro has plenty of stuff that looks rather shady as Java's. Either option could be bad, I am going for the one which may lead to Java letting us go while trying to deal with Jabaro and then maybe threaten them with the sword for the answers.

Warn Java for a few reasons 1. An assassin when going after someone stronger than themselves would seek to disable their target's strength which in Java's case would be her tail and the easiest way to do that would be to occupy it with someone like how Tanya is now 2. The mist is obviously not natural why would someone who can paralyze with eye contact use something that limits vision. 3. If Jabaro is only slightly familiar with Java why does she know his name. 4. The Village was definitely big enough to not have at least 5 people in it there is no way someone as big as Java could fight in there without causing a bigger mess at camp, plus why was there clothing and undamaged weapons lying around the path Jabaro pointed out, why if there was a fight would everything be undamaged and in one place? Seems like a set up to me. 6 Assuming this was a setup there is no way he could have predicted Tanya coming along to help so his original plan could only have included Kuva and Kuva is confident, impulsive, and unlikely to ever consider talking something out, all it would have taken was to "find" the path say he is scared of Java and Kuva would have run off to confront her. 7. If Java just took down a whole village why are there no bulges in her body there was fresh fruit on the table so if something happened in the camp it has to have been very recently.
Java has both Tanya and Kuva subdued. She would have no reason to explain herself if she was as evil as they say -- ALSO, she just got STABBED by Tanya-- , yet has not hurt either of them. She seems wiser than she looks.
Meanwhile, Jabaro was afraid before, but now he seems awfully focused. He also said before he was not related to Kuva. He may have been trying to use the both of them to assassinate Java from the beginning. Hell, he looks intent to KILL right now moreso than he is interested in finding cubs by questioning Java.
ACT: WARN Java... but do it by saying, "Jabaro, wait!!" This way, it doesn't look like you are taking sides yet. If Java releases Tanya, grab the big sword again, but keep your distance. Both Java and Jabaro must be questioned.

This seems to be the best way to handle this situation. We still don't know what happened to the villagers. We haven't seen Java fully and can't tell if she has eaten them. And we don't know if Java can do magic, with that fog from last part. Too much 'don't knows'.
I like snakes and second your suggestion.

I'm pretty sure Java is lying... but not entirely sure. Even if Java is telling the truth, does that really make Jabaro a villain? After all, she's a large, dangerous predator who might very well have large body count behind her. Maybe he's out to rid the world of a mass murderer after she ate someone precious to him?
And again: even if Java is telling the truth, that doesn't mean she won't still devour everyone even if Tanya saves her. She owes Kuva nothing and Tanya is already no match for the naga. It's a jungle out there... and a girl's gotta eat.
Well, whatever the case, I actually hope Java is telling the truth, strange as that may sound. I also hope she could be an ally because that would be AWESOME.
But whatever is about to happen, I think Tanya might be free again in a few seconds. Get ready Tanya. This might be it.

True, but there's an equal chance that Jabaro will try and eat us after if he kills Java since he may have heard all of what Java just told us... and likely lie to Kuva and Daniel about why he ate Tanya if he does eat her to keep her quiet.
I also wondered the possibility that Jabaro give the settlers the child that is missing, since it seem unlike for someone to take the children under those two watch and the child is more than likely to trust their protector to come along. And maybe attempting to kill Java for a greedy purpose. Jabaro could pretty easily be as bad as Java with selling out allies to get his mark and payment if he is an assassin.
No way of telling really until we see what happens next, best we can do is be ready with a weapon or two if Java lets us go.

That and I am hoping to use this in either case https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAtLV26wnCE
To be fair, my confidence isn't too high itself, my good sir.
Part of what makes the comic so suspenseful and entertaining is the uncertainty of every choice like Game of Thrones or Until Dawn.
And this is one of them.
Both characters have their good points where they could have flawed but good motives and simple misunderstanding but there also a hell of a lot of dark suspensions to them when you pull back layers.
As Crossover said, they can easily laugh their asses off to us to save their own skins and take ours. That is way I agree with Noel and Cownugget's idea, to get into a three way tie where the stress and tension will have to force one or both of them to snap and show their true colours or get us much more info because I doubt Jabaro will wait for us to get more out of Java.
... and it just occurred to me that if Java does have the child if she is lying, then killing her means we've no lead as to where it is. And Jabaro there himself doesn't seem eager to at least injure Java enough to get her to talk about where the cub is (and we're very intent on killing her before consider whatever we should ask her about the child).

Question~ keep them eyes closed and find out more, If thingo kills her we are freed, if he doesn't we find out more.
There is no garantee this snake can be trusted, there is also no garantee she won't eat us after. So i reckon try to find out more by questioning her and let things play out.

I haven't even been replying to these normally, but this part intrigued me enough I had to go back and read everything with the cheetahs to refresh some points...
Kuva's a bitch, but she clearly knew nothing about the snake lady and has behaved in a manner suggesting she's just there to find the missing kid. But Jaburo is indeed suspect. He's not related to Kuva and is clearly less concerned with finding the missing child versus dealing with Java. Jaburo knew too much about Java and jumped to those conclusions right away... and letting Kuva and Tanya both go off alone to fight a threat he was clearly knowledgeable of... and his position now... Yeah. I'd buy the assassin thing and think its logical to assume he let them go ahead on purpose so he could stage this sneak attack. If he attacks from that angle, he's extremely likely to hit Kuva in the process, whether he also hits Java or not. He doesn't care about her. Fuck him.
Java hasn't killed you yet. Her motives with Kuva sound legit, especially if we consider Jaburo an assassin. If she ate anyone from the village you'd be able to tell. You are literally in her coils, you'd feel things moving or at least bulging them out, even if you couldn't visibly tell. (and there's no visible tells either) Also, Jaburo said he paralyzed and dragged her uneaten prey off... the villagers clearly walked out on their own. There were tracks. Something else happened there. "Predator" does not equal Evil or Untrustworthy, else you and both cheetah's also qualify. She may not have your best interests in mind either, but she's not the threat you're looking for and could just as easily be an ally.
Jaburo is suspect as hell now, Shout "Behind you!" and assist long enough to appease her. Like she said, you were misled. With Jaburo handled, she doesn't need Kuva. You can bargain for her back to either continue your shared mission or... whatever else you may wanna do with her. Maybe get some more information in the process, I dunno, that's further down the road.

I like your theories, plus if she did eat the villagers it would have had to have been recently considering there was fresh fruit on the table we got the knife from and using Tanya's digestion speed as a benchmark and the fact that it would have had to have been multiple villagers It just doesn't seem likely that she could completely digest them that fast.
ACT: Distract Java Let Jabaro Attack
Distract him by asking why the cats would be after him while struggling. Maybe your grunts, struggling, and groans can keep her attention on Tanya long enough to let him try a sneak atk.
And besides you made a promise to the cats and Daniel (The traveling settler) that you'd help. That would put you on Daniel's good side and who knows the ramifications that can hurt/help a WHOLE other village that deals with the cats.
EDIT: Also you made Java believe you know about a ttrick of her's when her eyes were closed when she was just bracing to be eaten

If we betray Jabaro now there's no telling what he might do to Tanya should he succeed. If we're gonna turn our back on the cheetah we gotta do it subtly n' make it seem like Java just figured it out on her own. Java's not exactly trustworthy right now either though. She could be a silver-tongued liar. Jabaro may be shady but the old saying goes "better the devil you know then the one you don't." Do we really wanna trade him for a snake who we only have the word of?
I'd personally like to hear out Java because I wanna see more of her 'cause she's cool. But that's just me.
I'd personally like to hear out Java because I wanna see more of her 'cause she's cool. But that's just me.
As much as I like Jabaro, I don't think that his story is adding up personally. His description is a little off on Java except for keeping your eyes closed, she should have a few bulges in those coils from the villagers and could have long since ate Kuva (which I wouldn't have minded :P) and now Tanya seeing as she has her rather helpless right now, instead of having a conversation that has no hint of such action rather than suspicions.
However, I wouldn't truly trust her either because she could have carried them off later when they got farther out of the village as her tracks are everywhere letting it appear as if they got away. Only to be captured and tied up later, there is no proof that any villager wasn't captured. Not only that, but she could have hypnotized them too.
So keeping in mind that we know just as little about Jabaro at this time as we do Java, but right now I think we should do what would promote our own Survival and seeing as we have an ability to get into Java's favor we should Warn her very subtly (encase it goes wrong) that Jabaro is approaching. I don't think Jabaro has a good chance of killing her or providing as much a chance of surviving as Java could just drop the Unconscious Kuva and us as well and Java has already proven to be fast.
Also, I believe that we should give up that Large Sword.

Great story twist in the revelation that Java may not necessarily be the enemy.
A major point that proves Java must be innocent regarding the missing children is the irrefutable fact that it would be impossible for such a large, heavy bodied serpent to NOT have left tracks from the Cheetah village to their current location. A two or four footed creature can avoid stepping on sticks and not trampling the grass whereas a huge snake has no choice but to plough its body along leaving a telltale trail in the environment which the story takes place.
Tanya, being a hunter well versed in field craft would have realized this the moment she saw Java (who incidentally could have easily kill/swallowed her already if she were the true villain). By putting two and two together, she must now realize that it was undoubtedly Jabaro who probably stole/hid the children, to enlist two expendable dupes to help him kill the snake by unwittingly serving as bait and distractions.
Given the evidence, Tanya has only one reasonable option. She should warn Java immediately, before he has a chance to strike.

Say Micro, have you assumed before Java popped into the comic, that whoever lived in the camp http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21088772/ are slavers/hunters of some kind?
I think I read your train of thought. Hmm, I think the village looks a little too well-established for either type - I don't think slavers would particularly care for laundry for example :P. Plus I imagine that our attention would have been drawn to any cages or restraints were it to have been a slaver encampment.
So the village inhabitants, just up and left she says? We haven't seen any traces of living people on our approach to the village so it would suggest that either:
a) some manner of organised evacuation - unlikely if they had to leave in a hurry from fear of Java attack and we've heard/seen no evidence of such a thing.
b) the inhabitants left some time ago - so why would she still be in the area if she was just passing through?
My theory - Java has indeed attacked the village, knocking out the inhabitants and she has rounded them up nearby, with Kuva being added to the collection.
Honestly, I say if we must pick a side - since I highly doubt we will be able settle this peacefully - that we trust Jabaro. I have no idea why people want to rat him out :P Java's clearly not too concerned by the attempt on her life and we have no real reason to doubt his actions other than the words of some snek monster. For all we know, Java may have attacked the cheetah tribe and Jabaro is meting out sweet cheetah retribution.
Seriously, all it takes is some snek lady to make some goo-goo eyes and y'all start doubting yourselves, lol

I don't 100% trust Java... but I don't trust Jabaro either.
And the snake lady could and should've outright murder us and have not a single problem, she is wasting her time talking to us which makes no sense because even the rash Kuva ate us without missing a beat. And Jabaro said he witness Java attack, eat and drag off a group... but never once mentioned a red fog or mist. Something I doubt anyone would forget nor miss, and very likely you tell someone about.
Regardless, after whatever choice comes through, I say be on guard with either Jabaro and/or Java, since either one is as likely to backstab us.

This whole thing stinks of a setup now.
Hell, I wouldn't be surprised of Jab set up -everything-. Including the village, the vanishing cub, all of it.
I mean, Java had -more- then ample opportunity to kill us, and Kuva, but hasn't. If she was as bad as Jaboro said, Kuva would have been dead and Tanya close behind. Things aren't adding up. Plus, up until THIS MOMENT Jaboro had been acting all but useless and like a limp noodle. And conveniently, he knew about ALL her fucking moves. That stinks of previous engagements with her. Especially considering it's too well informed to just be 'rumors' or 'what I've heard'. Lying sack of spots.
Now he's all professional and sneaky. Not to mention, he only has eyes for the snake, Java. The other two, Kuva and Tanya are obviously expendable resources. As I suspect the village and the cub were...
I've already thrown my lot in with warning Java. Assassins can't be trusted any further then you can roll them uphill. Most are motivated only by money, or worse, pleasure. I want to know why the snake has been targeted...

as a fellow cheetah, as much as i REALLY want jabaro to be the good guy. I'm not writing the story.
and i noticed a couple of things.
first and foremost being java knows tanya ate one of her snakes... and she could EASILY eat her and kuva.. and yet spends the time to talk...
all of which point to her not being the bad guy here.
i mean i guess jabaro could want revenge for something that has happened in the past, which would explain why he is both scared know about her and willing to attack, especially if he thinks kuva is in danger...
i dont really know if jabaro is bad i dont want he to be but i cant rule it out.. what i CAN rule out is that java is the enemy...
so i vote to warn her.
i just hope jabaro turns out to be good an not bad in the end, and this is just something they can clear up by talking it out.
