No matter where Sef travels everyone calls him crazy. Granted, the fox does have a pretty bad case of paranoid schizophrenia, so naturally he always ends up in the care of the doctors and staff of a hospital. When the fox made the jump into the paper world, he unfortunately landed right in the middle of Mushroom Memorial Hospital which has an excellent mental wing for max security patients. It's been a year since Sef was locked up in a Straitjacket and kept in a padded cell at night or for some "relax" time, and he's grown bitter towards the residents of the Mushroom Kingdom. One faithful night, Bowser stole the Star Rod from Star Haven yet again, but this time he got rather creative with the Star Spirits. He took Misstar down to Mushroom Memorial Hospital, and he gave her to Sef. Although he asked to be free from his canvas prison, the Koopa King wouldn't let him out of the Straitjacket. He claimed that it gave the crazy fox powers, and that he would amplify that ability. Once Bowser left the hospital, Sef took control. Now the mental patients run the building, and all of the doctors and nurses are locked away in padded cells, and Sef couldn't be happier.

In battle, Sef doesn't let the fact that he's in a Straitjacket keep him from unleashing attacks on Mario. For starters, he has a standard jump attack to do slightly minimal damage. His tail attack, on the other hand, has the ability to make Mario and his partners dizzy causing them to miss attacks. When Sef gets serious, he has a bite attack that causes paralysis as well as heavy damage. Finally, Sef has the ability to cause his foes to go crazy for a two turns by having them stare into the insanity in his own eyes. The confusion will allow Mario or his allies to potentially cause damage to themselves or their friends.
