When you really want to catch that legendary but you've already used that masterball? there are alternative ways to catch them, if you don't mind getting one who's on the heavy side x3
I really wanted to draw something for Lugia day, but i'm pretty late, i really hope this still suffices~
I always thought it was interesting how Lugia is usually portrayed in water, like in the Soulsilver start screen and in the 2000 Pokemon movie, which is my favorite of the bunch by the way, i had to try drawing an underwater scene for once
I'm really happy with how this turned out it took a bit less long as that shower pic but i'm still very proud of it, the bubbles especially took ages to get right ^^;;
Please enjoy! and next time you go fishing, take some special bait with you, like a deep fried twinkie perhaps <3

Question of the day: if someone came up to you and said they caught a (insert legendary Pokemon here) on full HP, with no status effects, and using a normal Poke Ball, would you believe them? Or, would you rather believe someone who said their Master Ball failed to catch a Level 2 Pigey?

Love this piece, Luke. Great scenario, and really great job on the background here. =3 Underwater scenes can't be easy, but you pulled it off nicely. ^.-.^ Also like all the little touches, like the bubbles and random Pokemon swimming about. X3

The bubble effects look phenomenal, and the blur effects to show the depth/ perspective too!
...However I will say that since you did that blurring thing, the background with the other Pokemon and rocks seems to stick out.
Not only because they don't seem blurred (to me that is, yes they could look like it but it seems more like a minimalist or less detailed...details rather than blurring them) out to me, but if you were to compare them to the...I would assume Luvdiscs near the Lugia, THEY'RE blurred out or have an effect of it...but the other's don't... what ?-?
It could've been you couldn't have done it because of the colors going on or whatever, but the bottom background looks like to me it's missing the blurring effect and instead you did a minimalist detailed thing.
But you still did a great job on this with everything else!

Thank you so much! i can definitely see where you're coming from here, and i was planning to blur the other pokemon near the bottom out as well but i couldn't find a good method to do so, the Luvdiscs have only one layer which i had to blur which is the color, the Lanturn and Tentacools have two, a color and shading layer, if i blur one out, the other layer still stays noral, which gives of a really strange neon effect which still persists if i shade both layers, and i got frustrated and just left it ;w;
I think i'm gonna try drawing them on one color layer, and just use darker colors next time x3
