Bearded Vultures among the best bird species for me. I really love vultures and will never understand why most people think they're ugly.

For me too, along with secretary birds and harpies. Me neither, and in my country(Romania) sadly, bearded vultures were killed to extinction because people saw them as being too menacing and preying on sheep. While it's true they can pull goats off cliffs, they never really hunt. and even so, was livestock worth massacring an entire species? i try to look from their view, when you are poor and the only thing you have is that sheep you think only about the sheep. but it's still frustrating...to think that if i were born some years ago i could have seen my favorite bird soaring freely in the skies. We had both bearded and cinereous vultures and we lost them ;-;

I love all Vultures! My most fav ones, probably are Andean Condors, but I really don't know - I also strongly love California Condors, Cathartes familly and Egyptian vultures. But, hey, no, it just don't fair to say so - I love ALL vultures, they are great. And it's sad that most of species are endangered now, because people are still killing them though they are not only harmless, but very helpful. I've never seen vultures in the nature, sadly, because my area is too northern for them. We don't have vultures in european part of Russia.
