I saw this first, then the comic. First thought: Kentucky Derby Yinglet Races.

And they're off! Crimson Fireball takes an early lead, followed by What Can Brown Do For You and Shard Of Confusion. Fluffy and Insert Pointy End In Enemy are last out of the gates. Now Goldie Locks takes the lead, with Special Brownies close behind. Now Shard Of Confusion is advancing in rank, with What Can Brown Do For You hot on his heals. And they come into the first turn and Crimson Fireball falls further behind, while Shard Of Confusion and Special Brownies now takes the lead

Special brownies is the one in the image in 2nd place, and What Can Brown Do For You I had failed to initially recognize as Val Salia's birdsona in yinglet form (4th place, in the foreground, wearing the couriers bag).
