Ryuga is a big, friendly cobra. However he wasn't always big. In fact, he was the smallest kid of his whole class. Not only was he the smallest, he was the weakest and the smartest; a self-labeled nerd. The town he grew up in was small, and adjacent to it was a evergrowing city. The city was evergrowing because of the small town; people either moved from their homes into the city, or the city itself bought out the surrounding land. Ryuga's family however never left, and stayed. Growing up Ryuga was bullied often. The typical bully stuff; wedgies, money stealing, swirlies. But then one day walking home he bumped into a older man. The panther saw how troubled Ryuga was and asked for the young boy's story. After telling, he asked Ryuga if he wanted to change how people looked at himself. And so, that's when it started.

Ryuga's karate instructor never taught entirely by the book, and by that he made up his own teachings. But each day Ryuga got better, more confident, and surprisingly bigger. The boy has a rare form of gigantism. Normally people with gigantism create growth hormones all the time, which causes a increase in size at a constant pace. Ryuga's condition, however, only produced growth hormones during strenuous exercise of tedious tasks. In middle school he took up weight lifting, and with the prior karate teachings, his body was on a long growth spurt. The bullies stopped picking on him, but he was not only getting better, his master was getting worse. Day by day he was getting sicker and less healthy, barely able to do much of anything. Weightlifting became more of Ryuga's afterschool activity than karate. His blackbelt was earned almost six months behind schedule, but he didn't care. He made it; he became a master of karate.

Ryuga still classifies himself as a "nerd". He works for the stock markets of several big businesses and works partially in online teachings. He never has to go anywhere unless he needs to bring a computer. While he's not working, he trains. He gets stronger and more skilled day by day. Ryuga enters tournaments to show that anyone can be more than anything. Just because you're labeled as one thing, does not mean you cannot be another.

Ryuga is very kind and understanding. He can be a bit coy or cocky during moments (mostly whenever strength is involved) but he never lets this go to his head nor does he act differently to others. He's currently in a relationship with Luna, a beautiful wolf that he met during a tournament. During his tournaments, Ryuga wears every belt that he earned at his old dojo, to honor his master and his teachings.
