"I feel as though I'm tethered to Earth through a very thin string. But as I tug and try to free myself, all I do is succeed in tangling the thread, wrapping it around and around, never snapping anything but my sanity. I am anchored, but just barely. I'll always keep pulling, keep yanking at this damn string, hoping I can snap it. It's so thin. So thin. Just one tug short of snapping! One more. One more. And the sky is so wide, endless even. The stars stretch out and the heavens are perfect, infinite. Free of pain and human error. My wings ache to fly me all the way up there, to join the starry ranks, to disappear, to be nothing but dust to those back on Earth. And those stuck back on the dusty, crumbling planet are blessed with tethers so strong, they don't even notice the sky. Their heads are firmly held in place; the land is their reality and gravity is their master. I envy them for it."
One of the many things Noct whispered to me today. Decided to take a very different route with this than I normally would and I think I like the end product. Would love to hear your thoughts on this, as well as any input concerning how I can improve on the black/white contrast method next time!
