I paint them all by hand separately. I do not use any stock for these. Nature will be a common theme among them as that is most easy/quickest for me and is generally pleasing to the eye. :)
For this commission and the last one, the client specifically asked for both backgrounds to be similar.

Well I'm not exactly a clone but rather a mix of things that have inspired and pushed me throughout my journey as an artist (including working under the instruction of concept art directors). I'm certain if he did decide to alter his style to branch out a bit from chibi proportions it would have its own clear distinction. Really all artists are inspired from each other and their surroundings. Nothing is truly original, but we all have our own flare, even subconsciously. I like to think we are all just a mix of things that have sparked our interest over time. And, just like everything else, these things are dynamic and can change. ^^
At the end of the day all artists who fully render their paintings will likely be compared to one another, regardless of individual stylization.
