I listen to a podcast by liberal bloggers Driftglass and Blue Gal called The Professional Left Podcast http://professionalleft.blogspot.com/ part of the show is they have what they call the Internet Kitty of the Week sent in by the listeners. I sent a photo of my sister's cat when he was my room mate. So when I sent it this photo. I was pleasantly surpirsed when I saw Fio when I went to the podcast. It was podcast #350. You can here what they used at the 55:00 mark.
I have sent a picture for the internet kitty it is my sister's cat Fiorello or Fio (pronounced Fee-Oh) He was adopted from an alley cat. He retains the hunter instincts, when my sister adopted this she saved all of the birds of Forest Hills, Queens. He is shy and when the door bells ring, he runs and hide. Eventually he will come out when he realizes that these people are not leaving. Fio hunts mice and my sister is quite happy, unless she finds the mouse corpse. He is cat that does not show any interest in food, we have had cats I was dumping the dry food on their heads.
My sister had her kitchen redone, and to prevent Fio having a mental breakdown I took it as a room mate. He is a acrobat and fearless daredevil always jumping, when he like to jump from the dresser to the bed especially when I was going to sleep. The first time he did that I was in a panic, "what just landed on my bed? Right the cat." My sister lives in Sixth floor apartment and I live in 1st floor apartment which faces the backyard. So I would open the window in the living room and kitchen and Fio could watch the birds and squirrels running around in the backyard. I called that turning on the entertainment system.
He would channel surf running at breakneck speed between the living room and the kitchen, I feared that I would come home to a cat with a fractured skull. I sent two pictures the first is Fio saying his serenity pray before leaping into the abyss to land on the bed. He looks so peaceful and calm. He always believed that if you rollover in your sleep he would make sure you are awake. Then he would his nightly patrols walking not so cat like around as you tried to sleep. Especially when he steps onto your head. The other is Fio having to know what is going on. You can not do anything without him watching to see how it affects him.
You think that we use this cat as a crash test dummy they way he reacts.
