Yeah, it doesn't animate when it's set as a background image.

Step 1 to solve this problem: get rid of that god damned Windows Phone! This operating system is the worst! Had a Lumia 1020 for 2 years, and while I usually never sell personal hardware, I couldn't wait for throwing it out once my contract was finished. I hated it, I really did!!! For a long time before my contract was finished, I had planned to destroy the damned thing and record it, to show everyone what I think of it. After realizing I can still make good money out of it, I sold it and got me a Samsung Note 4 after that. Still have that one and an Android based phone is just so much better!!! I lived under so many limitations with Windows Phone (what you are realizing there too), and there was not a single second where I wished to still have this cursed phone. Really, get yourself something else. Something that's not some totally stupid software.

Well, I would not have bought it if I didn't like it. The phone has it's issues but is very much to my liking otherwise.

I wound have said it's a matter of different tastes, but it's actually not - it's about what functions are important for different people. In my eyes, it lacked way too many and as you say, has it's issues. But I'd line to know your opinion, what you like about it. Just getting to see it from a different angle. I can at least say so far, I liked it's visual design with the clean contrast and the tiles. Minimalism, that's neat. Android is all too rounded and colorful for my taste.

Wouldn't this use more battery power on a cellphone?

So far I haven't noticed a difference. I think as long as you're not staring at the background for a really long time, it shouldn't make too much of a difference.

Afaik it only works when you jailbreak it. There are some apps for it then on cydia.

ahh, that kind of stinks that one has to jailbreak the phone for the abilitity to use something so cool.
