The Havenwood Report
**WARNING: This story is not for the faint of heart. It includes mass mind-control, moral ambiguity and scenes that some may find disturbing. This is a grimdark story and far different from what I usually write on this account. Please check the tags.**
A simple mission turns awry when a Moss Rock scientist and his team are sent to the developing community of Havenwood on a mission to retrieve some lost vials of Amity that had spilled into the village's water source, leaving all the villagers under its effects.
I wanted to try writing something with a different tone than my usual stuff, and this is what came out. I'll admit, I'm really proud of this piece of writing, though I know it's not exactly the easiest read. I'd love to hear what other people think and whether they'd be interested in more stories like this.

You definitely should be proud of this because it is quite well written! I feel like I may perhaps be more 'hardened' than I thought since I'm not sure I really found it 'grimdark' per se, but I can certainly understand why you gave the warning.
What I did find though, is that you set the mood well, and followed through with it the whole time, and I think that's one of the most important things to this type of story. I'm glad to see you stretching your writing wings as experimentation with one's craft can be a marvelous thing and help even with one's usual style!
I look forward to checking out further experimentation, be they of this style or another in general. And of course more of your usual writing as well. Still working on Spice of Life, but I'm getting there! :D

In your journal entry you said that you wanted to do something SCP-esque, and this certainly could be a recovered document for a SCP. The scariest thing about this is that this could easily be canon. While I personally didn't find this very scary, I don't tend to find SCP's or general psychological horror scary either.
It was a great read though

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I'll admit, when I said SCP-esque part of that was just that it was written in a journal format. Whether this is canon or not has yet to be decided, though I imagine the Winners wouldn't want to stay in Havenwood for too long... especially Cyn and Malus.
This was pretty interesting to read and very nice as a psychological horror story. While I didn't find it scary per-say, there was an air of dread and suspense that drove the plot forward. You know im a big fan of this kind of stuff in games, i've talked about that quite a bit, and I can honestly say that the elements are very effective.
