About Them:
Belladonna is a generally ordinary individual from the outside. She was moderately sociable, occasionally timid, and never over stepped any boundaries. She doesn't like appearing harsh, or rude, or to make others uncomfortable with her point of view. Inwardly though Belladonna, who often goes by Bella, is actually a very opinionated and steadfast to her beliefs. She takes a lot of time and care into forming her opinions. She hates when others form opinions based on very little reasoning. So she prides herself in weighing pros and cons, taking into account others opinions on the matter as well as the legit facts of the situation before she finally forms her opinions. Once Bella has formed her opinions she stays firm with them, and no one else can change her mind. She doesn't always think she's a hundred percent right, but more often than not she knows that there is justification for the way she believes. Still no one really knows this side of Bella, everyone always assumes she's just un-opinionated, dull or can't think for herself because she chooses not to add much to the conversation. If only they could see into her mind, then they would truly know how she feels about her opinions, and also about their view of her as well. Bella has very few concerns or fears in general, but the one thing she is very concerned with is degrading others personal thoughts and genuine conclusions. This is one of the main reasons she doesn't openly express herself as she could. That genuine fears stems down to a friendship she once had, that over a matter of unwavering opinions separated her and her best friend. Her once best friend has long since moved on, and moved away. Leaving Bella with a lot of regret and changing her once very expressive nature to a much more reserved one.
relationships:
former best friend (Iris)
Belladonna doesn't have very many close friends, and most of that likely stems down to the loss of the closest friend she ever had. Her name was Iris, and she was a very stubborn kalon. Bella and Iris had grown up from young things together, growing up strong and opinionated. Iris' parents had strict points of view, and ways of feeling about certain things which they passed along to their daughter Iris. While on the other hand Bella's mother raised her to speak her mind, and to form her own opinions. She and her mother often discussed anything and everything, so when Bella finally did make up her mind on her stance - she was steadfast and stubborn to a fault. As Iris and Bell grew into their preteen years, they began to fight more often, sometimes it felt like it'd never end. One or both usually going home with hurt feelings towards the other. They rarely apologized, because Iris was stubborn and Bella was taught not to apologize for having an opinion. Though one particular instance was the straw that broke the camel's back. The argument didn't truly matter itself but rather how the two handled themselves as they argued. It was something simple, a facts game of who was right and who was wrong - or at least it was to Iris. Bella had been expressing her opinions like she often had, and Iris insisted that she was wrong. Bella disagreed that having an opinion didn't make her wrong, and that Iris didn't form her own opinions but rather that she just repeated what her parents thought. From those words the two bickered relentlessly, and angrily. Bringing up situations that didn't even pertain to the argument, and tearing each other down. By the end of that day Iris was fed up with her and said the words that still haunt Bella to this day. why did I ever become friends with such a stupid jerk like you? we're not friends anymore! Iris' parents didn't give the two time to make up, before a month's time the family had up and moved. Her best friend, the one she had grown up with, and knew her better than she knew herself at times was gone forever. Belladonna learned a harsh reality then - that her opinions carried a weight and burden that she had never known existed. So from then on she chose silence over expressing herself, it made it hard for others to get close to her but she knew this way she'd never have to experience the loss of a friend like Iris ever again.
online pen pal / otaku (Kuro)
Into Belladonna's late teenage years she began getting on chat rooms, forum boards and just trying to find an outlet where she could be herself. Where she could express her opinions without being overbearing. Years of pent up and unexpressed words were starting to eat away at her. She found herself on one specific chat room one day that someone by the username of an1me1sl1fe, who was expressing his opinions and way of life to someone who had asked. She found him intriguing and sparked up a conversation with him. From that chat room they began private messaging, talking about simple things like life and points of view. It gave Bella someone to talk to, and maybe some hope as well. Over the course of the first few weeks they spoke Bella began to open up to the guy, talking more honestly with him than she had in the years since Iris had left. After a month had gone by they knew each others names and sent consistent emails rather than private messages on a chat room. She knew his name was Kuro and that he was an otaku. When he had explained it, she had thought it sounded strange at first, but after a bit of research she found it to be rather interesting. After the next couple months they were talking via IM and come to find out that when Bella moved out of her house with her mother, and moved a few cities over that they were nearby one another. Kuro gave Bella someone to confide in, someone to believe in and helped her come back out of the shell that she had forced herself into out of fear. In small ways he had given her confidence in herself again and soon they planned to meet in a park near her side of town. He had introduced her to anime, manga and all the amazing things that come with that. They might not have known each other for very long but already he was the closest thing she'd had to a best friend in almost six years.
badanna accessory (in this picture) was a gift from Kuro, it gives her confidence.
