Make sure to pay attention to Tanya's Stats. Charm determines how easily Tanya can sway others and cause them to do her bidding through seduction or other means. Stomach shows how hungry she is. If her meter gets too low, the quest may be railroaded, or Tanya doing something opposite of what the majority of people voted for. Vigor is vital for Tanya to do certain tasks that may require more effort than normal. Vigor can be seen as a combination of energy and mood.
There are also Current Sounds to keep in mind. Tanya is a rabbit with large ears! This means she uses her hearing almost constantly to remain aware of her surroundings. Current sounds can give a hint as to whether you should be careful in a specific situation or can do activities freely.
I'm looking for a lot of participation with this quest, so please chip in! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

This, We should ask Jab what he knows about Java as we catch up with Kuva. We need to hurry and share that info with Kuva, then we need to come up with a plan of attack. Giving Kuva and Jab a dart each may be a good idea. Also we should probably keep the knife so if we get eaten we can cut ourselves out of the snake from within.

I think you have the right idea. Except I don't think it's going after Kuva. It might be dropping in them. The dragging sound stopped when they were all together, which either means it moved away or it just stopped moving. It seems to be the latter, since not only has the dragging resumed, but now the creature is close enough to hear its low hissing.
The next word out of Tanya's mouth needs to be "Run!"
Let's hope Jabaro can can fill us in while they're fleeing for their lives.

I think they should run after Kuva first, while asking Java if he knows what kind of snake it is.
Snakes are capable of quite a lot, but they all specialize in different feats depending on the species. It might be a good way to know what they are up against if he can describe its look and size.

Run after Kuva & the cub, Jabbro have to descibe Java as the run along. But also boost up his confidence...

Right everyone is more or less agreeing that we need to hurry after Kuva now and get info while running after her on what Java can do.
However, since there is a dragging noise and hiss nearby, we have to be fully alert. Java could be enclosing on either us now or Kuva. We need our eyes and ears ready, watch the tree tops also since Java could be strong and long enough to attack from there unless Jabaro says otherwise.
Jabaro might be shaken, but we could let him know about the possible ideas we can use with the lamp, darts, or weapons on hand. The net might be useful too.

Yeah, there's two things (possibly competing) here - get to Kuva, fast, and find out exactly what sort of beast they're dealing with. If there's time for both, great. If not, then better to try and save Kuva then let her get eaten while Jabaro explains to the rest of the raid group how to deal with the boss ahead.
We must remain on the move and regroup with Kuva, this much is certain. With Jabaro in tow, we need to ask what exactly makes Java so deadly and feared. We must also be on our utmost guard, Java might be on the hunt, or could be waiting for us to chase Kuva. Right now we are the only person focused and calm enough to make decisive moves and react accordingly.
As an aside, we should start to create plans to deal with whatever abilities Java possesses. Her pace falters as she recalls that hammer fondly. It's pleasing heft in her hand. So much untapped potential to build and construct, now left languishing in some mud hut. What a fool she was to overlook this simple, majestic tool of artifice, in favor of some silly darts or dagger! How could she impress upon Daniel her desire to build a new life within his fledgling community, honing her skills as a craftsman without the very tools to channel her innermost desires?
She tosses the bag and dagger to Jabarro as she wordlessly retreats back to the shack, the cheetah's panicked voice failing to penetrate her visions of grand designs and edifice that she will bear to fruition.
