I've had a bad day today, so I wanted to draw something nice and simple to wrap up the evening. I decided to go for a Haflinger, as I like the lighter colours and I haven't done one in a while. I had to pick a pose that I struggle with, though. Stupid me. Anyway, it turned out okay. I've had massive problems with my black paper recently - nothing I do seems to work. At least the scan came out ok, and I think I might have even made a little bit of progress. Don't know.

you did a very good job on the color I think. I really like the eyes and the mane. The mouth is great too. Just the form of the head looks... sorry weired to me.
On one way it looks like an Arabic head on the other hand it looks like someone hit him with a hug sledge hammer. Sorry it that sound a little bit mean. You that it is not supposed to be like that.
I hope the rest of your day will be better and that you will feel better about it too.

Thank you! I soooo know what you mean! I just can't get my head/hand around that three-quarter poses! It doesn't look right to me at all, but it's a lot better than I started with...
I'm glad you like bits of it, though. I felt the shadowing was a bit better than I've achieved recently, which kinda made up for the head shape weirdness. I like the eyes too. ^_^

Sounds like you're doing pretty good! If the bleeding has stopped, you're over the worst. The second time I had a wisdom tooth operation, the bleeding took ages to stop and let me tell you, mixing pear ice cream with blood really didn't inspire my taste buds all that much... O_o
Aw, no matter how good a piece is there is going to be someone that either doesn't like a part of it or the whole thing. The important part is that YOU are proud of it and you like it :) I commend you on posting as much as you do and the amount you improve each time- keep going!
