No, her husband died after decades of service to the throne. But as a lone dragon in service to a human kingdom, she came to not be treated very well. It's easy to explain anything bad happening on the acts of a dragon, regardless of if she could actually do it or not. Plenty of people were out for her blood for things she may or may not have done.
