A picture for the Steve Irwin Tribute Portfolio.
I made this one rather fast, it only took me one day, but I thought a while about it. I had the title before I made the pic. It's a black leopard just in case you wonder. I made it nearly without any refs, only one for the colors and one for the background. There are some flaws I know, but it's a rather emotional piece, so please don't write heavy critique. You want to know what the title means? I already wrote it on DA, but I'll write it here again:

I nearly raised with Steve's show. I always liked it. And I liked Steve. Although sometimes his continuous enthusiasm annoyed me. But he still was a great personality and he showed us that even the most dangerous animals are worth to save them.
I thought long about this title, and I'll tell you why I chose it. I read in many journal entries here on DA about Steve's death and I was shocked. I don't belong to his family or friends but I was really shocked. Not like, "Oh, another entertainer died".
No, I thought about his wife and children and about his death. I thought lond about it, the whole night. I think he was suprised as he died, maybe shocked but I don't think he was afraid. He was never afraid. But he wasn't frivolous. He always had respect for all creatures. And that's what makes him so special.

"Don't be afraid to die, my son, don't be afraid..."

Rest in peace Steve Irwin
