*ATTENTION*: Your guys' comments still have bearing on what happens in the quest. For example, if you want Tanya to drop something to prevent from being overburdened or if you want her to eat something she has in her inventory, just say so in your post.
How to Play: Read the comic and then choose in the strawpoll link below what Tanya should do next.
Make sure to pay attention to Tanya's Stats. Charm determines how easily Tanya can sway others and cause them to do her bidding through seduction or other means. Stomach shows how hungry she is. If her meter gets too low, the quest may be railroaded, or Tanya doing something opposite of what the majority of people voted for. Vigor is vital for Tanya to do certain tasks that may require more effort than normal. Vigor can be seen as a combination of energy and mood.
There are also Current Sounds to keep in mind. Tanya is a rabbit with large ears! This means she uses her hearing almost constantly to remain aware of her surroundings. Current sounds can give a hint as to whether you should be careful in a specific situation or can do activities freely.
I'm looking for a lot of participation with this quest, so please chip in! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Well, it was mentioned earlier that such a large weapon isn't usually her thing (though from prior voting, it does seem she's now inclined to get more used to it), and using the dagger may save Vigor (maybe). Also, if she somehow ends up ingested again. the dagger is more useful in tight quarters than the great sword, and likely more effective than the gazelle horns (which a part of me wonders when those will come into play again). A dagger is also easier to be sneakier with, should the scenario arise.
Who knows, in the future it may come to pass that the hammer will be missed for a utility it could have offered. I think the important thing to remember is that "A Rabbit Astray" is less about winning and simply an interactive fiction to see how things play out.

Well I never mentioned 'winning', I meant utility and usefulness. Yes, the dagger would be good...so long as the predator is stupid and doesn't strip the rabbit first. But there's no guarantee that'll happen again.
However, the size of a blade doesn't denote how sneaky one is with it. It's more how it's used, and how much noise one is making. Yes the large one is easier to -see- but so is a whole anthro rabbit. Being quiet, and having good positioning is far more important then the size of a weapon. Also, hammers are sneaky, too if size is important. And they're better against armor, shells, hard bones, or scales, which tends to -break- blades.
As for mentioning the large blade isn't 'her thing' the only thing -I- personally remember is the cheetah, Kuva saying it would suit her physique better then Tanya's.

Kuva didn't really try that hard last time to search last time, and I really doubt that we should take the advice of Kuva as she is one of our main concerns.
While I agree that the size of a weapon is rather useless if you lack the ability to use it effectively, I will say that the extra reach could be the difference between life and death. Heck, if she could have found a spear here I'd be happy as those are dead easy to use with moderate ability and she already has the gazelle horns to use as a improvised piercing weapon in close quarters should that fail. Hammers, depending on their size could be ineffectual outside of causing pain if you miss the proper target or lack the proper strength, a large blade, or dagger can wound much more seriously with a hard slash and Tanya already seems to at least know her way around bladed weapons.

Anyone can use a hammer too, and if you looked at it, it was a solid block of metal on a stick. Those are usually blacksmith hammers or something similar. Blacksmith hammers can, and have been used as improvised weapons in the past, it's farly common. And on top of that, carpentry hammers (claw hammers) have been used in murder cases since their invention. Using a hammer is super easy. You just swing it.
I'm inclined to investigate. There's currently nothing to show that the occupants left recently (though with what was left behind, apparently in a hurry), so haste doesn't seem highly critical. Searching off the trail is a bit of a gamble, as it both takes time and there's no real indicator that something is actually out there. The trail itself, however, if searched, could give some more clues as to what happened, and that information could be very useful. The more you know/understand your quarry, the better.
I voted investigate. It seemed like the obvious choice. Something strange is going on here and there's a distinct lack of information about what it could have been. Following the trail without really looking at it won't tell us anything other than where it leads to, while searching off the trail is not guaranteed to yield anything useful at all.
While you're walking, see if either of the cheetahs know how to light the lantern before proceeding any further; maybe even light it for second, just to make sure it works and you know how to do it, but extinguish it quickly if you do. You can see well enough without it so far and it will only give away your position.
