Raulkins plan was a risky one, though an expert pick-pocket by trade, outrunning an green-skinned behemoth that was out for blood was entirely new territory for him. It was just his fortune that he hadn't had to pilfer the orcs money pouch far from the cave he wished to lure him into. Judging by how red with rage the orcs eyes glowed, the gnome probably could've ran into hell itself, and the orc would still pursue him.

So I was working on the final mockup of how all the panels would go together a few nights ago for this, and I nearly cried. I’ve been working on this off and on for about 6 years I’d say; it was a commission by a good friend. Unfortunately it became somewhat overwhelming for me, as I wanted so badly for the orc to have all the fancy armor those Warcraft grunts tend to have, which though awesome, they are a bitch to draw and ink…never mind color. Anyways, with only the last panel needing finishing, I felt pretty proud, this is the result of 5+ years of work and at least to me, it shows.
I’m hoping to put together a collage of rough sketches of these two, as well as in-progress panel art as sort of a look back of all the time that went into this. I’m really happy how it turned out, though sad it took me so long…but I’m pretty sure It won’t take me quite so long to do a comic page like this again, just because I learned so much taking the time with this one.
Anyways, self congratulatory rambling aside, very warm, very appreciative thanks goes out to
zyxxs, who commissioned this. For not only his patience and understanding, but never having once rushed me, or being bitter, or angry, always being kind to me and believing I wouldn’t let him down…I just hope it was worth the wait, and he can see fit to commission me again in the future. I’ll certainly never make him wait quite so long again!
