Endless Realms - Spirit Rings
Corebook artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
A few spirit rings - they are intended to be attached to weapons, not worn, and imbue magical properties upon the item they are bound to. They cannot be made without the cooperation of a denizen of the Spirit Realm, but there's always a chance one may be found entirely by luck!

Yeah, I think magic items, in a way, are a bit harder to come by in ER, but it makes me think of my husband's gaming philosophy - having to work for magic gear makes it more meaningful, whereas people tend to take it for granted if you can just buy Bags of Holdings and Vorpal Swords from town :b
I tend to think that way as well. Maybe not so much with bags of holding, at least the most basic ones, but anything more than the most basic of magic gear should be harder to come by, I think. Either it has to be found in a dungeon after battling one's way through a room to get to it or a special side quest to earn it, it gives the acquisition of it some extra weight. ^.^
I have to admit, I'm excited for ER when it's complete and that's just based on your artwork for it. XD
