I was hit by a car (again) on Thursday morning. White '95 300ZX Turbo jumped a lane and a half and slammed into my right side. I don't know what it is about this bike but it seems to attract white cars. This will be the fifth time I replace the right side fairing on this bike and the second time it's been hit by a white car. Pro tip: stay away from California drivers, they're all nuts.

Considering the bright lights I have on the front of the bike and my bright red and silver riding gear, I'm really convinced that people just aren't looking where they're going, especially here in CA. The guy who hit me even admitted that he "just didn't check his mirrors" before changing lanes.
Kit, I drive a 75foot long, 13.5foot tall, 9foot wide WHITE truck, and Cali drivers STILL don't see me when they change lanes
I think you need to move out of cali if your going to keep riding a bike, man. they people will kill you one day. we've already lost Furp to a cali driver while Furp was on a bike... don't you be the next Furp

I've lost four good friends to motorcycle accidents in the last nine months, Furp included. Sadly, these are the risks that we take every time we throw a leg over our bikes. Close calls are a daily occurrence for us, sometimes they just get too close. I wish I could move out of Cali but my career won't move with me and I sure as hell can't stop riding motorcycles. I just have to cross my digits and do what I can to avoid these situations.
I used to live a bit north of Atlanta, little town called Canton. I rode for 3 years, and DREADED everything I had to go further south than Kennesaw
I cannot count the number of times I was almost run into/over/CREAMED south of Kennesaw.
That is one of the reasons I now live in Central Wisconsin. the COUNTY I live in now has few people then the Town of Canton has, and Canton is a pretty small town, for north Georgia, that is.
I had lost the title to my bike for the last 3 years, but I found it again, and the paperwork is being lost... I mean handled by City Hall and I will be legal again (YEA!) once the plate arrives
what do you do, may I ask, that requires you to stay in the Independent Communist State of Californication?

People are crazy out there, that's for sure. I used to live in a small town in Colorado, riding was a lot less stressful back there.
Glad you're getting back on the bike! I don't know what I'd do without my bikes. I get jumpy if I haven't ridden in more than a couple of days.
Yeah, I run the parts and accessories side of a large powersports shop here in SoCal. I couldn't make anywhere near the money that I'm making here if I were to head elsewhere, I'd have to spend years proving myself to a new employer. (unfortunately, in this industry a title doesn't go a long way, it's all about trust) I may be leaving my shop to jump on board with an international corporation (also in the motorcycle industry) in the near future, but I'd still be stuck here in CA if I land that one.

It's been ... oh god. 200, no 2001 since I rode. I lost one bike that I had in storage because the ex-wife spent MY storage unit money on HER dumb-ass boyfriend. it was a 1977 Honda CB750k with a cb750f rear break assembly on it (disk instead of drum)
I picked my most recent bike (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1327536/) and had a few repairs done over the last 3 years. waiting on the title and for Wisconsin to get above 40 degrees f outside

Oh man, the CB750! That was the original Japanese superbike! Great bikes! Shame the ex had to go and fuck things up for ya'. The KZ's a good ride too, there's more than one KZ in the garage right now, mine's an '81 KZ1000 that I've had for a long time, the other's a 440 that belongs to my room mate. Hope your state thaws out soon!
