A Toaster Chronicles comic about an situation that happened recently. See, I have Mycophobia, a fear of mushrooms. Yet that fear has turned into a deep fascination and interest in them. So against my better judgement I picked up a starter kit for Shaggy Mane mushrooms. Which was an adventure in and of itself that we won't get into here. And uh. I am really questioning every day why I bought this thing ;-;
Why must I like these mushrooms.

They are just to grow and have around. I guess I could eat them, too. I actually got Shaggy Mane, which auto-digests themselves into a black sludge that I can use for ink if I ever want to.
And yeah, people can be afraid of anything no matter how innocent the item or idea is.

Mushrooms are super interesting to me. Some are just a stalk with a large mesh on top of them, others grow like a plate sticking out of a cave wall and have basically hair growing down from them, and even stranger still are the ones that grow underneath treebark and can connect multiple trees (even forests!) by doing this.
I actually don't care for eating mushrooms purely because of the texture. I still do use them in a recipe if it seems to be better for it. But no, eating mushrooms doesn't scare me XD

You are the mushroom-King.
I really like the mushrooms that glows in the dark. There's a forest here in oregon that's covered by tall trees, and there's like glowing mushrooms everywhere! Also other types.
What's crazy is that it's illegal to harvest them unless you have this permit.
Apparently, it's good money.

Wait until October. Last year it was a LOT of mushroom Zae stuff...
And yeah, restaurants and other places REALLY want fresh wild mushrooms. Thing is, if you get certain kinds and sell them to a restaurant and they serve it, people will kinda-sorta die on the spot. So you have to be certified and legal to pick and sell them or else someone may be seriously hurt.
