Wings and tail and headflaps are some sort of fancy Space Fantasy Energy Stuff that is either iridescent or actually changes colour. It's also like fibreoptics/perspex/glass in that the light and colours mostly show at the rims/edges but because it's semi-translucent it also shows on the main body of it.
