Oh boy, I've seen tons of various reasons/explanations for transformation happening, ranging from "magical fairy send by the Goddess of love casting a spell" to NOTHING!
NOTE: This isn't to say that a "good reason" is required to make something enjoyable. I'm just bringing it up, because I've read a bunch of stories, saw a bunch of pictures, and a few of them were so idiotic, that I was certain that they were meant to be comedic, but they were not.
Even "nothing" can be good! But there was that one time when I was reading a 6 page story, which all about some romance between 2 closeted boys, so much poorly written crap, it ends with them having sex, there's some stupid stuff happening, and then they transform... OUT OF NOWHERE!
.... gee, why did I even write this? I apologize!
