Prologue: Trust and Departure
6923 P.W.R (16th century, in the year 1573 A.D. In Gregorian Calendar equivalent, from planet Earth), Armathian planetary calendar. The days of harvested “magic,” have been fully well endowed in development for the cultivated lands we reside in for over a century already, along with respecting the very natural lands that exist among us and its ecosystem itself for their well-being and the resources that were present in the first place. However, there has been subtle preliminary signs with the way we invent and create artificial elemental technology, among suspicious potential problems that we Nomads of the Tealwood, have noticed sight and sense of. So, my crew among myself, have both teamed up and divided for the best possible solutions of carrying out the tasks to investigate and explore for the search for the true roots of this controlled “plague,” actively lurking somewhere within our entire world. It's only just begun, but it best must be pursued now, as any moment of the present is the best to try and do make efforts to resolute with our motives while finding ways to stop the calamity.
My name is Abivion. I am a two-legged standing porcupine creature, as Eartheans refer resemblance to us from their data, and while we creatures in our civilization, come from planet Armathia, my duty is to keep watch over my current squad, and recently I've reported to my closest comrade about the issue of withering plants, crystals in false pigmentation from their group, and other certain environmental resources we've noticed on the place we've been exploring currently, in Clockwork Whisperwoods. For some reason, these minor mishaps of nature and the aura of their substances that come from them, have been acting out and even causing some health hazards to the feral animals that reside within the forest. Those resources however, are also ingredients to how we can process and use special powers within their set elements that can be used for our newly-established technology, glasses, equipment, armor, weaponry, and even other devices including sensory, light, travel, and more. Still, while my crew has been both collecting research and fighting off any threats in the mean time, I've issued an important statement of request to my closest comrade, Olixsren, a bipedal Coyote under the role of Adventurer. While I've been trying to keep a low profile from my pursuits that the public need not know based on our current areas, I've entrusted to him to my Glass Sentrystone for distant communication and my Elemental Compass to search for strong signals of abnormalities coming from abundant natural objects. Last but not least, I've ordered him to search for the core source of why our world has been beginning to go out of balance, and thus the companionship that we must set aside for him to also find a new life.
“Olix, has thou found any suspicions or unusual percussion going on around this place?,” Abivion firmly requested to the coyote in fairly cloaked clothing. “No, not quite yet,” as hollered by Olixsren.
A squad member of the several, standing across Olixion within a multitude of meters in distance, speaks out in report to Abivion, uttering “Sir, look what I found here. It looks like a strange, cracked glowing crystal in red. Thou think this is a relevant link to what we were looking for?” Abivion responded solemnly “Indeed that is one of the various matters that I suspect correlates with the whereabouts of the issues that we've been set out to both understand and resolve. We do have a more solid target, and for the time being, we are here to find the source of why this forest has been uncontrollably misbehaving out of its own natural will. Maybe then we'll also uncover something even bigger and more pivotal to this if we manage to survive.” Then without further ado, Abivion lifts his head a little and turns his back up strong and yells out “Lads, keep up the research. Not only do we need more details, but we also need both resource samples from these objects & implant curable substances we brought in our containers as we travel along deeper into this place. Do not let thyselves falter!” The squad, with the exception of Olixsren, all holler out nearly in unison “Affirmative!!”
As their minor excavations, treading explorations, and active inspections rolled through by the fragments of the hours, soon they then went downhill and towards underground within the gargantuan tree barks, which have been partially petrified in blue, retaining their textures but glimmer in an eerie set of mildly glowing sky-blue dots and faintly glowing cracks around any holes & faults on textures. The barks show this pigment and effect, but nonetheless, the crew comes down and investigates the area inside within the intricate corner made by the larger tree, containing many curved branches and thick roots also flourished in its own organic plants, some infected by the effect in teal-blue, and others currently unharmed externally. Crystals have been present in shards and hand-sizes parts onto the tree stumps and its mushrooms coming from its wood and stumps, appear like frosted fuzz but in blue hue. As they walk to the pitch dark point of the organic cavern-like place, another member of Abivion's lights up a glass orb-contained fire that flows and illuminates in a lime green, alternating to a cobalt blue transition and back in forth, as artificially operated and chemically mixed with Phyzerion powder by a scientist they know back home. As they tread a little slower and slower, bats with glowing electric-blue eyes fly frantically through and past above them in a considerable swarm. The creatures wanted to move their positions from the distracting light, but also show signs of fear and escapism from the source of the stationary infection that the massive tree from deep underneath, lies way down below specifically, but not directly downwards at all. Hidden somewhere fairly far and down, one of them gently hollers “Hey, looks like the glowing blue root lines gradually get bigger as we go further down following the path, and maybe that just might lead us closer to the source!!” Abivion turned his head in serious concern, saying “Thou speak of such inference, yet it may be much further than we might think. On addition, we have yet to collect more materials. Men, scatter for a bit to collect more various items, but do not touch anything that could be dangerous or hazardous. Like usual, keep your hands protected with your special bio-resistant flexible fabric gloves!” Some several minutes went by with their current operation of gathering, with some putting their newfound exploration objects to their pouches, back-basket, silverglass containers, and so forth.
Soon after sealing their items, the ally who detected the blue roots from down the wide paths, said “Looks like we got enough of what we needed! So what next?” Next thing right after his optimistic utterance, a strange, sharp-sounding roar reverberates from afar, sounding reminiscent to Chiropteran beasts known from mythology and tale studies from the animal kingdom of Armathia. The rod-holding member briefly gasped in his breath, and spoke swiftly “Woa---what was that!?” After they stand for a few seconds, Abivion replied “The sound is but the screeching roar of the beast that lies not far from here. Get your armors and weapons out, but tread not so loud, use thy supple strategies on your feet.” For almost a minute's worth, they jog lightly, further, and progressively more downward in curves, and slow down after some time, quieting down their steps as the roars echo again, but a little quieter. Some breathe deeply and others catch their breath with multiple inhales and exhales. Olixsren crouches somewhat to his knees, and whispers quietly beside Abivion, “What kind of creature do you think we'll be up against? Perhaps this beast you speak of, might have an instinctive reason because of this trouble.” Abivion replies “That is what we must find out, but I'm afraid this creature might attack us without resent. Keep your guard up and retain your reflexes everyone!!” Then, Olixsren gets back up and increases his momentum in walking to jogging lightly along with the team of four, coming into the wide space, and by the time they enter the massive room, the floor is much more damp with softer inner tree soil. Glowing crystals, in a shimmering cluster, glow in a transient light blue, often lighting in a more emerald green sight while the blue roots are everywhere around the relatively rounded walls, with its thinner vein-like branches connecting to the strange biomorphetically hardened solid substances that are the glittering yet unsettling-looking tree crystals.
The beast is hanging from up the ceiling, and as Abivion slowly looks up in tension, his mouth opens a little in fright of awe, and the others gasp softly, catching up an inhale, and as the large creature opens its jaws, its sharp teeth in jagged forms, and its orb-like eyes, open up fluidly in a discomforting, enigmatic glowing electric blue with a white pupil that contains bold, true-blue retinas that resemble opaque electric veins, as it reflects through its surface, then blinks distinctively, giving off its scare.
The monster roars a powerful and superbly loud, wavy howl, as it springs down to the ground, flipping its body midway through and turns its head from his back, secreting faint transparent blue saliva from its jaws, then turns its whole body slowly in intimidation in front of the four from a considerable distance, then springs in for the assertion. Abivion hollers loudly “Everyone, use evasive manuvers and attack from its sides now!!” The two rookie crew members run around towards behind the monster from both sides simultaneously, running and making their attack from its back sides. The beast lifts its body and back upright roaring again with its arms sprung wide as its veins from its muscles, flash gradually but quickly in its pulse, dimming down again as it swiftly turns around to claw both of them from one direction towards both. The two crew members briefly scream in freight, with one anxiously thrusting out his shield just in time to block his hand and claws from impact, and hits the shield instead. The other combatant, who has his illuminating rod inserted diagonally behind his carrier bag, ducked and then pulls his diamond-dagger out and proceeds to run and attack again, with quick consecutive strikes and bright blue fluids mildly fly out and transparent, black oil-like fluids as subsidary to its beast's blood with the infection of the blue fluid. The battle goes on and the monster has damaged some of them with its irritant-imposing spit on one of their arms and one on another's leg. Olixsren proceeds to hurry to them each at a time, healing them with a small green potion for each container for them to drink quickly and smoothly. As they finish their brief rest right towards the walls, the monster is already weakened after several minutes of fighting, then as the others are behind, the creature catches sight, dead in front of Abivion, roars one more time, and hurls towards the leader. Olixsren yells in panic “Abivion, get out of its way, hurry!” In a matter of seconds, Abivion still stands, refusing to do so, and takes out his bow and prepares a fiber-glass platinum arrow, and stretches its string, ready to strike to the monster aimed at its forehead. It begins to leap, and within a split-second of moment's notice, Abivion lets go of the arrow, springing off and while the monster is in midair, it falls as the arrow strikes its belly instead, missing its intended aim, but successfully dissolve's the monster's power from the infection as the arrow head shatters inside its lower stomach region, containing special white and light grey substances to disinfect the creature and put it down. The large bat-like muscular beast falls, attempting to get back up with its moving hands and arms, but sleeps to rest. The special weapon contains powdery liquid designed to both cleanse the bio-organic blue substance and put it to sleep, without actually killing the creature, but nonetheless weakens and fatigues it inevitably, restoring its sense of control.
The team slowly walks towards him near the fallen monster, becoming unconscious and sound, and Olixsren speaks: “Wow, looks like you pulled it off. I haven't seen you use that kind of weapon. What is it?” Abivion explains it in detailed discussion as they walk back, entrusting that when the monster wakes up, it'll walk back to its home area and keep in watch of the tree's inside area entirely and parts of the lively forest from outside. As they go outside and go on their ways to return together on their headquarters, they clean up and then make a minor celebration with dinner & lots of new food together with drinks, in a warm-colored lit kitchen room inside their cabin-like walls containing both natural and technological parts to each of their own properties. As the two other members drink together in gentle acquaintance of gesture and clinging of their light-green transparent mugs, Olixsren asks “So why was that creature acting like that? What was it?” Abivion says “Those creatures are Chiropteran guardians of the Clockwork Whisperwoods forest. We need to report this information and show some of our found items to the chief headmaster, who is your boss, and know where we need to explore next. That by then, can get us closer to the outer world after we fix things for the civilians of that forest within this week, then we'll set out. We managed to help it without actually killing it.” Olixsren nods confidently, then gets up and goes up to his room and speaks of them, “Have a good night guys! Don't get too drunk!” and goes into his room after they holler a reply “Okay!!!” Their next objective will unfold soon.
