Second of the "Cats of the World" series. Yes, a color version of this and the previous picture exist, but they were sold and back then I didn't make copies of my work. I still have the original inked drawing, however, so here it is (after some digital clean-up and relettering).

The Fishing Cat is a full species, and so has evolved to handle a mostly-fish diet. It also eats things like frogs, crabs, birds and anything else near the water it can catch. Fish is fine as long as it's mixed with some other stuff. The problem with domestic cats is that you're not supposed to give them only fish from a can, because it lacks other elements necessary for health.
Okay, never even heard of the Iriomote Cat (but I'm sure I'll get an earful from The Kitsune). Of course, the wild population is Critically Endangered -- on the Red List -- according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (thanks, Google).
