Oh my... I just checked out your website's "senior project" gallery... I take it that maquette is what you're turning into a full-scale latex+prosthetic costume? That is beyond awesome.

Yup yup. Got much to do still. I think I'm to be using foam latex for the final outcome. Thinking it over a bit though cos somethings need to be more stretchy than others. Like the fingers, gotta be able to bend them, haha.

And yus, I got the vulcan about 2 days after it came out. I love that damned thing.

Hmm! I'm not an "expert" at any of this stuff... and I don't know what brand of product you prefer to use or what your exact plans were, but you might want to look into something in the family of platinum-cure silicone if you're specifically worried about pliability. I'm sure there are many suppliers, but the one I'm aware of and have worked with before is Smooth-On. They have a super-soft silicone rubber that might suit your purposes for the gloves... http://www.smooth-on.com/Silicone-R.....129/index.html And they offer other varieties of silicone and silicone foams in different hardnesses for your other applications.

Yeah, that's what one of my effects friends recommended. Smooth-On's pretty good for most things, he says. ^-^

8| Yup yup. Already blew 40 bucks on alginate cos someone messed up my head mold and cast the first time. So mad cos there wasn't nothing I could do about it... cos when you get your head cast... you can only just sit there, while the other people put the alginate on you.

any time. you going use between gel 10 and Dragon Skin. Gel 10 is much better. you can soften it with deadner to an extreemly fleshy feel. its 50 50 mix, it can be thickened with Gel 10 thickener which also thickenes most platinum silicones and the list oes on. its a fantastic silicone. the best i have ever used.

Looks great so far! Make sure the wrist has some scale differentiation so it all doesn't look too fabricated. The smaller scales around joints will make it look like it has more flexibility. I love the work on the fingers and the top of the hand. Lovely! Be careful with your hands!

wauw... this is gunna be soo sweet when finished^.=.^ i could just imagine a full body-suit like that, rawr...

by the way. i will reccoment you using some sort of hard and durable material for the claws themselves, just for even more realism ^.=.^

Oh, I am. Gonna use dental acrylic probably for the nails. They'll be cut out and cast separately from the rest of the arm.
