The apprentice presented his master with a fine gift of a charm on a silver chain. The leopard transforms from magick encased within the small amulet... he falls down on all fours, and the silver chain is changed into a pet's collar. They then go parading through the park near the wizard's home, though it leaves the tubby leopard panting and puffing.
10"x8", cheap ball point on bristol. I spent almost all the time on the scene with this one. I never quite got the hang of drawing trees.

Thanks for the compliments. I generally just fudge on my backgrounds, but with this one, I wanted the setting to give a realistic sense of scale. Then I started adding shadows, and realized that I had to calculate cast shadows for -everything-. It's close to what I had in my head, but still not perfect.
One might think so, on the first view. The leopard wizard seems to enjoy times like this, though he rarely admits it... he actually leaves things for the zebra apprentice to find, hinting at his desires. Magick books left open to pages containing certain useful spells and info, for instance. The apprentice has a big ego, and he thinks that he's powerful enough to lord over the leopard... the truth is, he botches most of the spells he casts, and the wizard has to give him nudges in the right direction.
