I'm pretty sure they wanted to study the silver mass and destroy the sample. Just saying. It's Hedgeworth who wanted to use the sample to make their race stronger, though I'm pretty sure they'd just either be consumed by it, or turn directly into it. That thing is quite virulent.

No your right, just as mad as that other asshole. Secure the sample, feed the earth's population to it. Use the relic to advance bug civilization to greater heights. Fail horrible, universe wiped out. Send psychic story into the mind of furry porn artist to make a comic of it. Infest new universe. Absorb, rinse, repeat.
