Eight years ago, I officially joined FA with a single mission. This being to discover if I was as awful of a human being as my previous employer had made me out to be.
It didn't take long for all of you to show me how wrong all the mean things that were said about me were. You also were all so kind to give me positive critiques to improve upon my love of writing along with communication skills.
As the years have passed, I've gone through so many challenges. Most of these with regard to my health. However, the positive constant has always been all of you, my family, and my friends.
You've all made going totally blind so much less scary than I would've viewed it eight years ago. You've helped me see how I'm a worthwhile person whether I'm gainfully employed, or not. You've also managed to show me that I can turn anything difficult in my life into a learning experience that can potentially benefit others.
My physical ability to see may be almost gone, but you've all made my "Mind's Eye" stronger than ever! I look forward to only continuing to grow as a writer, friend, father, and husband in the coming years.

After all this time, I have no doubt that things will only get better. :)
I was truly at the lowest-of-the-low when I joined FA. Then I discovered an even deeper low after what happened to cause me to lose my most recent job last year. However, despite these lows, I've always found so much happiness, support, and good will from friends, like you, along with the support of family coupled with "Determination".
It's hard to ever truly feel at a total loss when you have such a wonderful support system available no matter where you go. :)

I couldn't have done it without great friends, like yourself, Leon. I'd have no reason to log on to this place if I didn't have pals. I see you as a super inspirational buddy and always enjoy when we can talk about stories, life adventures, and fun ideas we get through our mutual interests in gaming and being young at heart. :)
*Toddles back over and plops with a POOMF on his tushie* Here it is! *Quacks as he flips open the book* It's a "What to Do Book"!
My parents gave me it for my birthday and tell me to read it when I'm bored, or need something to do. *Points at some pictures* See! Lots of neat pictures of things to do! Like..... *His tongue hangs out as he flips through the book* Like draw pictures!

*Ponders while flopping his feet. An audible pillow-like crinkle coming from his shorts as he does* I don't see why we couldn't use diapers for pillows... *Blushes* It would help make a bigger fort, too.
*Stands up*
I think I know where the diapers are kept. *Looks very nervous about you following him* I'll be back. *Nervously quacks*

You could always link the two together? Kind of like MLP: FiM did that whole "Birth-a-Versary" thing? Make your anniversary and birthday like two sides of an Oreo Cookie with the time in the middle that awesome cream filling that makes you smile for how you've made so many friends, done cool journals, and have worked positively towards your arts as time allows. :)
*Wraps himself up playfully in your tail and giggles merrily with a lot of quacking* Ditto that, you clever lil' squiggle. :)
You, MJ, Tacki, and Kaffre were my first buddies when I got on here. You started me not only on becoming a better writer and person, but also on finally accepting my "Little" self, too. *Snugs* Thank you so much, Zoom Zoom.

Between June of 2008 and August 2008, my employer and fellow employees came down hard upon me as a result of all the medical complications I had been experiencing since November of 2006. The worst of which was being made to sit in the center of the room where we all worked while allowing each of my clleagues to mention how my disability inconvenienced them.
Along with this, I was told by my supervisor how I brought the team down, was depressing, never showed reciprocity, and had a bad attitude.
When I was terminated in August, my co-workers already had more than half my desk packed up before I got out of the meeting I was having with my supervisor when she fired me.
Needless to say, I was crushed to know how much disdain my colleagues had for me over the two years I did my absolute best to work for the company. I felt very awful inside and, well, needed something to discover if I was really the awful person that my colleagues made me out to be.

Yep, yep, yep! I knew this site was filled with complete strangers who would be very upfront and honest with how they felt about me. It was scary opening myself up to what could've been even more negativity, but I had to in order to know for certain if I was that awful person employer-types have made me out to be.
I actually found it through Deviant art. I'd go on there during my lunch breaks at work to cheer myself up when I was feeling down about things and needed a cheerful "Pick Me Up". (Our work computers allowed it)
One day, I came across the work of
tavimunk and he had a link on his page to Fur Affinity. I followed it and was very surprised to discover that there were loads of people who had the same interests as I did. So I'd visit it every now-and-then at home and during work breaks. However, it wasn't until I was terminated from my job that I finally built up the courage to join.

The nice part is that, hopefully, you've built up a good support system of creative friends here on FA. This way, if any tough times come, you know there are lots of people who can be there to help you through the rough patches that may pop up.
I've honestly learned FA to be far more than an art community. It is a place where many gather to find acceptance, understanding, inspiration, and friendship.
You'll also notice that it is very easy to find someone who can relate with you, or who is interested in something you like that you never felt anyone else could like, too.

As a friend, you need not comment, fave, or anything like that for me to know you are around, Lighty. Snugs* Your friendship is always enough to remind me that I always have a friend in you no matter where I go, or however long it is between when we are able to share words. :)
I do hope life has been treating you well. Have you still been doing writing for Lighty and friends? Have you thought of any new ideas for making Lighty even more unique as a character?

I'm happy you have some fun ideas making their way through your head. :) There are loads of stories I'd like to do, but life always has a thing about making it hard to get to it when you feel most inspired. :(
Hopefully you can continue to build and work the story in your head as time allows. Even if you never can make the comic, you'll always have a wonderful, one-of-a-kind tale to enjoy all to yourself. :)
There's also doing some paraphrasing / abridging in posts / journals if you want to get a little feedback on what you've been enjoying? :)
