I used a photograph as the reference for the udders - so they are naturally pretty long - at least in that particular camel..

Thanks very much ^.^! I have been having fun thinking of ways to spruce up my character reference sheets =)... And I thought it was totally neat to get to do something with a camel ^.^ .. I was trying to think of the last time I drew a camel at all - and I'm fairly certain it was in middle school when I drew a camel for my grandma ^.^,

Yeah, they're really uncommon. Seeing this has inspired some of us to try new things, so thanks for that!

oh my! First off, a camel taur is amazing.

secondly- her potbelly and natural build are fantastic- you dont see enough exotic chars like this, and if you do they're skinny with huge racks and over exaggerated anatomy. her figure is refreshing and REAL. And she looks happy to be the way she is, which makes it look even better!

I LOVE the obvious amount of research you put into this- the anatomy, the coloring, the poses- they're magnificent.

Oh God, I can't stop coming back to this picture. This really makes me want to draw a cameltaur now... there needs to be more camel characters in the world! Some of the coolest ungulates are shunned aside for the more commonly seen ones, and it's so unfair! All ungulates need equal attention <3

As for the art itself, you did a wonderful job capturing the camels body type, especially those long udders! And I absolutely love the solid build of the upper half of the taur as well :)

Now that the Arbian camel has been done I wonder how long it will be till we see a Bactrian cameltaur about. ^^

I was considering it, I'll be honest, but I think if I do decide to do this, I'll pick one of the camelids instead; they need lovin's too! xD

There's not a lot I can say that hasn't already been said, but -- excellent job with an unusual character! She looks VERY natural, and most artists can't quite manage that even with more conventional 'taurs.

I saw a cameltaur awhile ago on DA but it didn't have this much character and panache. Nicely done.
Giraffe-taurs, wolf-taurs, weasel-taurs, elephant-taurs, rhino-taurs. I've seen them all. We need camel-taurs. :D
Equitaurs may be overrated but I still love them. It's refreshing to see concepts/art like THIS though. Quite original. It's not easy to make a taur out of a camel. But you did it. :D
