Ok, as practice for the webcomic I want to start, I thought I'd try to create another comic series to focus and hone my skills in creating comics. And here's what I came up with: Shaun & Johnny. The adventures of a gay fox & coyote
This is the first time I created my own characters so here are brief descriptions of them:
Shaun: A gay coyote who is quite macho in the fact that he's a boxer, loves cars, is a mechanic, and quite tough. Loves is boyfriend Johnny more than anything. More dominant of the two. A versatile top.
Johnny: A bisexual fox who although is not as macho as Shaun, is not "flamy." He's like your average guy. The only thing flamy about him is just his taste in music. Loves his boyfriend Shaun more than anything. More submissive of the two. A versatile bottom.
Johairi: A rabbit from Malaysia who's your stereotypical 'Kampung' (village) Malay. Ignorant, poorly educated, stupid, votes for PAS, highly conservative, overly islamist in ideology and has 12 siblings. A bit of a "fish out of water," he finds it akward being from a conservatist malay society to live in a liberal American society. Hails from the state of Kelantan. Straight.

Oddly enough, no. This has been in the works for 2 weeks. It took so long cuz my schoolwork was costantly interfering; the consequence of taking all the hw heavy subjects like commmerce and pure maths, and cuz my dad frequently ran off withthe tablet for work. He's on a business trip for the next 2 weeks so I was finally able to finish this.
Now that you point it out, lol another bunny got slugged. Let's ask Douglas Adams what the probability of that was

Thanks man. I kinda drew this cuz my school has probably the most open gay community in the Klang Valley. Hugging guys are a common sight in my year. Then I was learning about Human Rights in Saudi Arabia. I was so appalled by the fact that homosexuals receive the death penalty via either stoning or hanging that I was inspired to draw this.
Good to know that you'd stand up for your mate too.

Kelantan is Malaysia's most religiously and socially conservative state. For the last 20 years, it has been ruled by the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PArti Islam Semalaysia, aka PAS) and they're the butt of a lot of jokes about backwardness and over-islamism. PAS are jokingly called "Taliban Malaysia Branch" because they're basically like the Wahabis of Saudi Arabia. In Khota Bharu, the state capitol, cinemas are banned (at first they insisted the lights be left on, but they realised no-one could see the movie anyway) and checkout lines in supermarkets are segregated.
Plus, they also tried implementing the more barbaric aspects of Shariah law, like amputations for stealing, but the Malaysian high court ruled that it was unconstitutional.
PAS forgets that Malaysia isn't a 100% muslim country, 1/2 of the country is not muslim, yetthey insist islamic values need to enforced to everyone, even the tourists are encouraged to wear Hijabs!
County-by-county, PAS tends to gain votes in very rural, remote, impoverished, borat-like and almost 100% malay counties. So there's basically PAS is a political party for those who are ignorant and poorly educated. You can very quickly tell when PAS territory starts by the sudden drop in development and PAS flag flying everywhere
Here's a few jokes
What's in the back of every car registered in Kelantan?
A skullcap and a Quran under glass that says "Break in case of emergency"
How many Kelantanese does it take to change a lightbulb?
None. There's no hadith stating Muhammad ever used a lightbulb so lightbulbs are haraam and not used
Did you hear about the new IT superstore opening in Kelantan?
Sadly it was just a rumour, there's a hijab shop opening instead

Oh my God, well I did look on this and yeah I think its scary, I can't imagine what they'll do to you if they find out about your lifestyle but hey with your Merkava I don't think they'll screw with you, but even if they see me, clean-shaven, with MP3 player, and pretty soon a dog, man they'll go after me too*cock my G3 rifle ready for any Wahabi that goes through the door*! Aye those Wahabis are A-holes, I mean good God they need lighten up, they are so uptight that if you shove a lump of coal up their asses you'll get a diamond, excuse my language. And they have a habit of making more and more things haram for some reason, they seem to be looking for things to make haram, I mean I hear many terrible stories from Saudi Arabia, its a shame that the holy cities of Mecca and Medina are ruled by worst people, I think the Prophet Mohammed(PBUH) would be shocked on what some his so-called followers have become, we really need reform, but thank God its going to happen soon because thankfully the Ulama(the Muslim 'clergy' even though we are not suppose to have one) are now losing their tight grip over their 'flock'. Muhammad Asad,a visionary scholar said that if people don't think for themselves they become intellectual prisoners to a small group of people who are of themselves intellectual prisoners of the past. I'm sorry I talk too much. But yeah those jokes are funny though, so I'm guessing if ever come to visit Malaysia avoid Kelantan than.
Oh thank god! The day muslims feel free to follow their own interpretation of islam instead of being brainwashed with someone else's dogma will be a very happy day for me.
I hate the Wahabis, and I hate that whole f%^#ing country they live in. God, they treat their women like shit and their adherenceto shariah just makes me barf, especially after they banned pokemon because "it evokes zionism", supposedly the word "pokemon" is japanese for "i am a jew" and a whole host of other crap. If you gave me 30 nukes and the mega-movers crew I would move the Masjid Al-Haraam to somewhere like kuwait and then rain the nukes on that accursed country, turn it inot the Saudi Sea! I'm pretty sure Yemen, Oman, UAE, Kuwait and especially Iraq would love the extra coastline...
Sorry, I really hate saudi arabia.
Btw, I have actually developed Johairi alot more now. The hyper-conservative muslim part of character is no longer a major part of his character, he's more of a best-friend character to zear
Here's his reference sheet and summary of the current him

So I guess Johairi mellowed out, well I'll disagree with you about nuking Saudi Arabia that's a bit extreme, many Saudis would love for the establishment to bite the dust, but many Saudis are brainwashed unfortunately, what I would advocate though is to get rid of the Saudi clergy and the royal family because they are the ones responsible for this mess, I would say we should send special forces or paratroopers to get rid of them to free the Saudi people, keep in mind no matter how oppressive the Saudis maybe, that doesn't mean you go massacre an entire country because that would mean you'll be killing women and children which that in itself by any standard is wrong, the right thing to do is get rid of the establishment, capture the Saudi royal family and the Saudi clergy and get rid of them, so then without them it would solve the problem, like cutting the head off a snake if you will.
Yeah he was an intolerant A-hole and he started a whole lot trouble because of Saudi Arabia's wealth they've been spreading their interpretation across the globe, Salafis also scare me well because they are simply an offshoot to the Wahabis, the rise of fundamentalism is not just in Islam but its in Christianity with the Evangelicals, with Judaism with the ultra-orthodox, in Hinduism with the right-wing hindu party in India, fundamentalism is rising everywhere, but sooner or later it should disappear.
I noticed religion seems to have forked in two directions: Liberalisation, which means tolerance, understanding, democracy, reform, and secularism, and fundementalism, which is all the intolerance, extremism, studying your holy til you know where every punctuation mark is and such.
Jews are not exempt either, Haredi Jews are on the rise, and in terms of Christianity it either goes to just hatred intolerance like the WBC or sticking to more anchient concepts and isolation like the FLDS church
Oh, while we're on the subject, this should entertain you: The Chaser are at it again, this time they get on the case of Late Night Christian Shows
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMfX3uA15RM
I love these guys! I have an Aussie iTunes account and I downloaded a lot of the seasons, plus I also bought a DVD box set of them

OMG, that was hilarious,Benny Hinn is just stupid, now you got me watching this Chaser show, BTW in my college we have many clubs and I'm currently the representative of the MSA(Muslim Student Association) which consists of about eight people and we actually are quite liberal, there's 4 guys and 4 girls and of the 4 girls, only one wears hijab, the president of the club, her name his Tamara she's also quite liberal so it reflects on the rest of us, but on the other hand we have three Christian clubs, two of them are friendly and liberal but one called Christian Cruaders for Christ which the name in itself worries me, most of them are nice but they are two them who are quite zealous, one time in last semster one of them stood in the middle of the square with a picket sign that has a list according to them of who's going to hell and what not, the list including gays, bisexuals and Muslims and Jews, but most people ignored him. And about religion forking in two directions you and me obviously know which side we're on.
Wow, that sounds cool that you guys have something like that. I'm also jealous of how American schools have Rainbow Alliance clubs, clubs like that would really help someone like me. Ugh, that Christian Crusaders groups sounds like a KKK-band to me, do they also walk around in funny costumes?
Yay! Another Chaser's fan! Look around youutbe, there are literally thousands of clips from their show

I started liking Chaser's because you showed me it, anyway yeah our college does have a club for homosexuals and bisexuals, but if you ever come here, I would invite you to join the MSA too, I'm sure Tamara wouldn't mind, because we don't just have Muslims in our club we do have people of other beliefs, the point of our club is not to convert people or anything but show Americans that we're not terrorists, we often put a table in the square of the college offering coffee, hot coco and donuts for a cheap price, and we also do BBQ's and we went to a movie once too, but I missed it because I was sick with the stomach flu.
Yeah, that's what I meant. I created another one
Wow, that's pretty cool. So you guys show how muslims are not all wife-beating, suicide-bombing, anti-american zealots. That's good, have you guys ever had like a really narrow-minded guy walk in? Aww, I know how you feel. I've missed fun things because I was sick as well.
Oh, I know it sounds like I'm spamming you with this stuff but this particular clip from the Chasers is quite relavant to us: They test the security of landmarks from an American and an Arab tourist

Well it looks like I should start spamming you back
But anyway thanks for the clip is funny, but sad at the same time, why is it that everyone thinks that all Muslims are Arab, in fact they only make up 15% of the entire Muslim population, look at me I'm mixed Turkish/Spanish and look at you your Malay and we are far from the stereotype. And yeah that's what our club does we just take down all the negative stereotypes and try to tell Americans that we are normal people, I was born here so I'm an American Muslim, so if people tell me 'go back to your country' I walk two steps and say to them 'well I'm back'. So far Zear we have been quite fortunate, we never had narrow-minded guy on club to date, so far everybody on our club have been just great.

Yup, in fact the largest racial group for muslims is Indonesian! 12.9%, or 202 million muslims are indonesian.
Sounds like your club has been a resounding success And thanks for not taking all the links I'm sending you as spam.
Speaking of which

I've developed Johairti a lot more since this artpiece, here's his current character sheet,
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2717830/
and he's supposed to be a caricature of the Kelantanese, but I've developed him a lot more and toned down his islamism by quite a bit

Yeah, I thought you'd like the fact Shaun's a Michigander, even though his family are descendant from Arizona (his great grandfather moved to Michigan).
His family, the McPhersons, are very rich, considering the fact that his father's the CEO of General Motors. You did read my story "Meet the McPhersons", right?

Kk,
DIFFERENCES:
- Shaun's from america, while Lucas is from Ireland.
- Shaun's rich Lucas is just a normal person.
- Shaun's Gay and Johnny's Bi, while with Lucas's relationship it's the other way around.
- Shaun's not distracted by big boobs, Lucas is :p
RJ IDEA REFERENCE:
If Vince, Sam, Loki, Shaun, Lucas, and Johnny were to meet up I think it would be really interesting to see what happens when and Lucas and Shaun meet each other.
RANDOM BOLD HEADING:
Meh, I was bored :p

His namesake is a car part, called the "MacPherson Strut"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacPherson_strut
Then I changed it to McPherson, but it's still there. The reason why he's named after a car part is because he's such a big car nut, what with his dad being CEO of GM and having tinkered with the family's huge collection of cars since he was 14
