Two halves of a corrazina breastplate in progress.
16 gauge mild steel.
This is the first, most time consuming and labor intensive part of making a corrazina.
Which is a form of covered, semi flexible torso armor from the 14th century.
Theres a bunch of small plates to cut out and shape.
Then duct tape to hang them to check the fit.
I am making this one for sale, so its not going into my personal collection.
But I needed the practice and trial run to test the pattern.
And since corrazina kits are in high demand...I can use the money.
Since it will eventually be covered in either fabric or leather, theres no need to sand and pretty up the surfaces.
This part was cut out, roughly hammered and dished, and most of the planishing done in one day.
I am ridiculously pleased with myself.
