Two gods hopelessly in love with each other. The king of Light and the Queen of Dark just enjoying their time with each other.
though she may be an elegant dragon being now she was not always this way. she once had a beautiful face to match her dark yet loving heart, but sadly.
She was cursed by a jealous Goddess who wanted the King for herself and cursed the Queen of Darkness to be what she thought was more fitting for a creature of the dark, A dragon! almost like a snake in the night sky but to the Goddess' dismay it did not deter the king but in fact caused him to be connected even stronger to his dragoness lover now more than ever as he showed her that it was not her beauty that he wanted. but that tender shadowy heart that he seeked to be close to.
I had this random inspiration over the weekend and if i am completely honest this is one of my absolute favourite paintings I have ever done without a doubt. I tried so many things with this and it has completely made me rethink how paintings work.
Took me about 8 hours to do and the stars are partly painted and partly photo manipulation of images from NASA's Hubble Telescope.
