Absolutely beautiful work here, you have incredible artistic talent.
I'm dying of curiosity to know, did you color this on white paper and add the background color later or did you somehow manage to color this on a piece of colored paper?
I only ask because any time I tried to work on colored paper my colors got all messed up from: back-bleeding with markers and colored pencils just didn't show up correctly.
The coloring around the green boarder and clover leaves look very clean cut, so I'm guessing that you probably did this on white paper and then added the background color digitally. Stop me if I'm wrong.
Also did you only use markers or a combination of markers/colored pencils? (Sorry, I'm a very curious creature.) ^_^

"Your comment has made my day!"
Glad I could make ya' happy. ^_^ *snugs*
"I drew this on white sketchbook paper, then added the background's color in Photoshop."
Right, I think that's the best method of adding a background color myself. To date I have never been able to get colored paper to behave in a way that creates a pleasing visual effect. The worst of which for me was black paper. While white charcoal/chalk looks fantastic, colored pencils look absolutely horrible on it. I thought I'd create a really cool looking effect by having black paper and vivid, bright colors for the main work; but alas, it just looked like dookie with the colors being very muted or hardly visible at all. I'm still curious if oil pastels would work on black paper though.
"I used mostly markers, with a white chalk pencil for highlighting."
Ah ha! I knew I was seeing marker but I was also sure I was seeing pencil marks at some points, so it was throwing me through a loop and I wasn't sure. That's an excellent color blending technique. As soon as I get some decent markers I'll have to give it a go myself. I've always wanted to try blending markers and pencil.
BTW the coloring above the nose looks great, I meant to say so before but forgot. It looks like you held the marker tip down for a few seconds in place to bleed the color in a circular way, no? You have a masterful talent for blending very different coloring techniques together into a seamless integration. ^_^ It's a rare thing that people do well but you have it down perfectly.
+fave/watch for amazing talent

Oh my, I am quite flattered, now.
It's take a lot of practice. Like, I know it's the typical and unoriginal form of advice, but you should see some of my old stuff with markers. It's deplorable.
Practice works.
So I definitely think you should pic up a few markers sometime and give them a shot.
I personally work with Prismacolor Markers. A bit pricey, but well work it, as far as I am concerned.
Thanks for the compliments!
