We have for Western Civilization Board August Art Theme: Space Babes http://westerncivilization.trifecta3.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&p=33858#p33858 Sci-Fi babes in skin tight outfits and futuristic bonds is the tone for this month. You can also work in alien abductions and monster DiD’s. It seems that Lor McQuarrie and Tish Katsufrakis of Disney Weekenders were going out for some partying. Lor decided to ditch her tomboy outfits to do some glam, she picked the wrong night to do this. They have run into some of the Martians https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bl8euHz-NHE from the film "Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgxhEq8w9xw and it is not going well for them. Now Lor and Tish are part of the Martians' plan for breeding stock for atomic war ravaged planet. The film is one so bad its good school of film making. The space ship from Mars barely looks big enough for Princess Marcuzan and her assistant Dr. Nadir, who jokingly resembels Cmdr. Spock's bald brother, to fit. Let alone them and a company of troops and a bevy of kidnapped beauties.
The titled space monster Mull has a very ill defined role in the film, it is a pet or some kind guard dog.
Lor McQuarrie (voiced by Grey Delisle) is one of the main characters from The Weekenders, the "jock" of the group, and Tish Katsufrakis's best friend and next door neighbor. "Lor" may be short for Lorraine and her middle initial may be J.
Lor has shoulder-length orange hair and often wears T-shirts and jeans. She is of Irish-Scottish descent and has somewhere around fourteen brothers (the actual number has never been said on the show, don't even bother trying to count). She also is confident and assertive. Lor is an avid sports player, and she excels at both basketball and soccer. She is frequently caricatured as the "dumb jock," as many of the jokes revolve around her inability to understand things and seemingly limited intelligence. Lor is frequently tough and borderline insensitive, to the group's chagrin. She mock-threatens violence ("I'm going to pound you one!") when she is either offended or upset. In addition to being tough, Lor is also extremely spoiled and bratty. She loves the way she looks and thinks she's the most beautiful person ever. Lor also enjoys eating junk food and playing video games. Even though Lor and Tish are best friends, Lor has more in common with the guys, Tino and Carver, than with Tish. Despite being tough, Lor is unable to speak coherently to boys she likes and has a crush on Thompson Oberman, a boy at school who has blue hair and wears sunglasses. She struggles in school but can earn a decent grade when she sets her mind to it. Overall, Lor is not very bright or all that kind but is indeed a true friend to her gang, always sticks by them, and shares a deep love and respect for them. Lor's hero is her grandmother.
Petratishkovna "Tish" Katsufrakis is one of the main protagonists of The Weekenders. She is voiced by Kath Soucie.
Tish is considered the smart one of the group, being skilled in a wide variety of arts and sciences. She usually speaks and expresses her opinions in a factual or literal matter, seldom hesitates to correct her friends, and often backs up her opinions by quoting famous people in history, most often of her idol William Shakespeare.
Tish has a tendancy to be a perfectionist, often freaking out over minor mistakes or miscalculations in her data, but none-the-less carries herself with a high degree of self-confidence and assurance. Despite often being teased by her friends about her intellect, lack of athletic abilities and obsession with academics, she is respected and appreciated by her friends to an extensive degree, and for the most part willing to accompany them on their countless adventures. Tish's intellect and responsible persona cause her to act as the group's "voice of reason". However, she is seldom listened to, which often frustrates her.
Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster (sometimes stylized as Frankenstein Meets the Spacemonster) (1965) is a science fiction cult film, directed by Robert Gaffney and starring Marilyn Hanold, James Karen, and Lou Cutell. It was filmed in Florida and Puerto Rico in 1964
The film was released in the United Kingdom as Duel of the Space Monsters. It is also known as Frankenstein Meets the Space Men, Mars Attacks Puerto Rico, Mars Invades Puerto Rico, and Operation San Juan. Released by the Futurama Entertainment Corp., it was released on DVD by Dark Sky Films in 2006. In the United States, it was initially released on a double bill with Curse of the Voodoo. The film tells the story of a robot who combats alien invaders. Despite the title, neither Dr. Frankenstein nor Frankenstein's Monster appear in the film.
All of the women on the planet Mars have died in an atomic war, except for Martian Princess Marcuzan (Marilyn Hanold). Marcuzan and her right-hand man, Dr. Nadir (Lou Cutell), decide they will travel to Earth and steal all of the women on the planet in order to continue the Martian race. The Martians shoot down a space capsule manned by the android Colonel Frank Saunders (Robert Reilly), causing it to crash in Puerto Rico. Frank's electronic brain and the left half of his face are damaged after encountering a trigger-happy Martian and his ray gun. Frank, now "Frankenstein", described by his creator as an "astro-robot without a control system" proceeds to terrorize the island. A subplot involves the martians abducting bikini clad women.
The title's space monster refers to the radiation-scarred mutation 'Mull' brought along as part of the alien invasion force. The Frankenstein android and Mull confront one another at the climax.
