Translation
Commander: "Platoon, dismount (disembark)! Form up in two columns and advance!"
Bah! I never know what to put here. I guess I should start off with a bit of gratitude to one fan who is helping to make the comic a little more credible and better as a result. Firebreath, once again I thank you for supplying me with French translations, they're more appreciated than you might now!
I liked how the inks came out on this page, though I'm a little mixed on the colors. I'm pleased with how the hapless mechanized infantry commander came out, but less so with some of the troops in panel 2. In any event, if you've gotten this far I've already said too much and I'll leave any commentary at your capable fingertips.

It's a fictional country in West Africa. I chose fictional mainly because I was afraid of historical inaccuracy... but then I found out about a military coup in Ghana on the same day of the same year. By that point it was too late, but hey, I now have a whole country I can fictionalize with!
I just use the basic tools available in Photoshop- a rounded rectangle tool for the balloons, the line tool to link them together, and I use the elliptical marquee tool to shape and cut the 'tails' or 'arrows' or whatever they're called. I'll admit the result is amateurish, but it's functional.
gotcha.
its the same as i've been doing for
IOswitch but quite a bit cleaner. haha guess i just need some more practice.
thanks!

G3s, AKs, what looks like M-14s... Oh my!
BTW, as crazy as it sounds, if the resolution's high enough, I'd strongly suggest you try and get those boards (that's how they're called in english, right?) to a publisher or something? I mean, there's definite potential!! :D
I'm pretty sure that many european comic publishers would be all over this. :3

Just five panels? What the fudge? Oh well. I like this page because of that. It has a unique look using all long panels to do it.
Panel 1 HOLY SHIT! I"M LEARNING FRENCH! "Plattoon Dismount. Form ranks in two columns and advance" Must just be one of those times where the words are similar enough to English for me to figure out. Anyway, good head shot of the leader. Beautiful sky too.
Panel 2 This panel is all gravy baby. So many different anthros, so much depth, so many characters and gear and stuff. I could go on and on. It's fantastic. Hey, Fred can understand French, why don't we get a translation?
Panel 3 OK this panel is too good. It has a giraffe and a boar! That's fantastic. Your appealing to the anthro geek in me here. Good expressions and depth here. You are really setting up whatever horrible thing is going to happen to this smug commander and his troops. Nice beard on him BTW. It is difficult to make different anthros look like different people. Fred's expression is good too.
Panel 4 A classic way of setting up tension with a silent panel. This panel is actually my favorite. It is very artistic in its execution and purpose. There is just so much good art here.
Panel 5 This panel might have been my favorite. It has so much depth, there are all the different anthros again and the background work as well. It is another silent panel but I know we are building tension for whatever disaster is about to befall the arrogant commander and his men
Plot/Writing The writing is obviously trying to set up something bad to happen but not in a bad way. All is believable and justifiable and shows the horrors of war. I commend you for having those silent panels at the end. Nice storytelling there.
