Man... in response to all these pics you are posting (Might as well do it here.) I really wish I could help clean her up. It would probably be a really great experience to just go over every piece, getting rid of all the gunk, replacing or fixing things as they are sorted... Zen. Engineer's zen. And then putting it back together all shiny and chrome -w-
Beautifully said! I think in everyone's life they find that one thing they love, that one thing that the moment they see it it becomes an obsessions which turns into a character defining moment. For me it was about 5 years ago when I first saw her face popping out of the tall grass when we were moving into this house. I'm hoping that I get to achieve that state of Engineering Zen during this project. I know it won't be easy, but the sweetest victories seldom are. And man, if you could ever get back down here I'd be more than happy to invite you on for the project!!
I'm glad that's all checking out! I'm concerned the hoses might not stand up too well under pressure after all that time in the Florida head but we'll soon see! They looked well enough when I was up there! lol who knows, I might just get surprised and that'll all hold up for awhile!
I was actually debating whether or not to call Mr. Buddy and ask him if it would be alright if this weekend I start picking up the PB Blaster and Vinegar (lol which you still need me to re-link me the video to) to start vanquishing that rust once and for all. I'd worry it would be improper of me to start working on it while he's still filing for the lost title and getting the new key, and also too I'd hate to get the rust under control and removed only to expose bare steel to the elements again and further deteriorate her condition.

Wow, that guy below me is a dick.
I wouldn't worry too much about those hoses buddy.
I wouldn't start rust removing until you have her home and garaged. She's likely to just re-rust out in the weather like that and then you'll just have to do it twice. I know your eager to get to work, but better not to make more work for you. ^^;

grr... >.> well he called her 'bad'... kind of a dick thing to say, you'd want to encourage your friend not say how fucked they are..
Sounds good, get yourself some boxes of baking soda and put some under her belly, it'll help with any humidity and keep her cute lil belly from rusting up.

SHE was just commenting on the condition, lol and compared to a new car yes she is in a rough state. She didn't mean anything it's just a comment broski. Cool it. lol if I was offended I'd have said something.
Baking Soda you say? That works? I know Cass is pretty low to the ground and it looks like at one point she was parked over a large sheet of wood so that might have protected her thus far, but anything I can do to ensure her safety and preserve her condition until that title and key comes in is a plus. >.< I wish I remembered her VIN number so I could look up some of her history.

I'll let you interpret it how you want, I disagree on your interpretation but I guess if it doesn't bother you it doesn't really bother me. I'll begrudgingly drop it. >.>
That's just what I've heard, and it's what I'll be doing. Do a search on what the best material would be to park her over, grass isn't very good because it holds moisture, you'll make her tummy all wet. </3
