Me firing my 1919A4 from the hip, Tucson shootin' trip
Yes, you read it right! Here we see Arizona's surliest fat guy ripping up the berm with sustained fire from his semi-auto belt-fed 1919A4, sans tripod.
Look closely at his fantastic form, be amazed by his rippling muscles, watch as he grins like a dope!
No foolin' this damn things weighs about 40 pounds, but I had to do this cuz I am me, and this is what you get when you are me... wait... what?

after sustained fire, the barrel jacket can get pretty hot, enough to remove skin from you.. but I am so manly I didn't notice!
heheheheh... that's bullshit, it wasn't very hot yet as I had not put more than 30 rounds through it. Will post the video when I find a place to host it.

The Stinger would be a class C wepon, and the semi auto M1919 would be a class E. I think according to this info here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_po.....in_New_Zealand
Surprisingly, we just went out to the same range yesterday, and I wore the same hat. The 1919 did not attend. The cannon did, and we all got stunk up with black powder smoke.
The hat is a trademark of mine, I love German hats, have worn them over 25 years as I like my head covered and don't fancy ball caps. Some folks get the wrong idea, cuz the Nazis wore this type of hat (never mind that the Austrians have worn it since WW1, and the Federal Republic of Germany's army still wears them).

Every man needs a medium or heavy machine gun. Why give the ducks a chance? They'd machine gun us if they could.
As a kid I always wanted a machine gun toy... or just a war surplus machine gun. There was such a toy, but it was never in any store I was taken to, and I only found out about it decades later, in a nostalgia book. Johnny 7 and such crap never counted...

I grew up in L.A., with Army/Navy surplus stores all over. I had a big love for any hardware I could get my hands on. It turned me into a collector who now owns a little of everything. Look at my gallery, I still love hardware.
I have always wanted a 1919 and a muzzle loading cannon. Now I have both, and I want MOOOORE!

We have Army/Navy surplus stores, but they mostly sell clothing, knapsacks, knives, compases etc. When I was a wee shaver, the windows had diving helmets and more interesting stuff, but I never got a chance to look inside to see if they had surplus P-51 Mustangs, or anything really cool. Today, the only thing you might find are beat up old post-WWII vintage helmets, usualy without the liner. Or practise rounds for the Browning .50 cal MG. Ditto, practise "pineapple" grenades. I have one of those, and it's not even remotely as nice as others I've seen. The upper part that the spoon is held down to by the pin is just plastic. But I was only able to find that much in *one* surplus store. We "Americans-Lite" up here, and don't seem to go in for that sort of thing much.
If there is a certain replacement part, or bit of inert ordnance you really fancy, let me know.
I have fallen in with a good crowd of traders and dealers and it scares me how much good stuff is out there.
Just this month, I added three new meteorites to my collection, and four tikis, a few months back, more antique tools. I know I don't need to tell you about the hazards of collecting!

Maybe we can work something out then. I'm sure the package will be opened, but when it's seen it's only a dummy, there should be no problem. A card in the package stating plainly that its only a practis "round" and has no explosives or detonator would likely be a good idea.
Let me know what you wanna do then. I usually get a few extra practice pieces circulating through the collection.
I can restore it to proper ww2 colors (OD green body, with a yellow stripe at fuze well)
I know I have several proper fuzes as well, those have become scarce and expensive of late.
I just recently restored a WW2 Japanese 81mm mortar shell. Shep did the nomanclature markings and it looks fantastic!

I think the pineapple is sufficient. No fuse, please! I think I can do without mortar shells too.
What would you consider a reasonable trade? I have a still fairly large number of sketches that I used to sell at cons. I'm not doing that anymore, so they're not doing me any good.

Green sounds good. All Fishbeck's were a sort of flat, grey-green. What's OD mean, though? "Out Doors?" I could do without the yellow collar though, preferring whatever colour the battlefield grenade would be.
I'll need an address for you to send sketches -- you can add it to a personal note.

Local machine gun shoot lets ya do that full auto with exploding targets if you can afford the price tag x.x
Neighbor has a semi auto and love setting out few dozen/hundred targets and throwing a few thousand rounds down range, sadly is getting very spendy to do any more :(
Nice to know there's other normal folks out there ^_^
