Lindsay as Star Butterfly (FA:U 2016 Commission)
Here we find something a bit unusual. A color commission at a convention. That's usually because color (in my experience) takes a lot of time as I try to match up colors from my 161-piece marker set. Last of three commissions along the same theme (actually inspired on the last day of the con based on the other two), this is destined to be made into a badge by the commissioner/s who have a laminating machine at their disposal. While badges are nothing too unusual, they're also usually headshots or bust shots. Full-body images are a bit out of the ordinary, but I accepted the challenge, producing what amount to standard full-body pics, sized down a little (2/3 of a typical letter-sized page) for use as badges, but not all that different from other full-body commissions I've done in the Artist's Alley.
In this case we have
lidsayfoxglove's character cosplaying Star Butterfly, the main character of Star Vs the Forces of Evil, re-creating the iconic scene of Star introducing herself as a "magical princess from another dimension" while creating a rainbow with her wand (which subsequently catches fire). Lindsay seems to be pulling off the look rather well, despite being a he :)
For posting, I made somewhat more elaborate tweaks compared to the original (they're still hard to spot though). I spent some time with a clone brush to fill in small spots where the marker didn't quite get into the nooks and crannies of the lineart, and cover up pencil lines (done with a compass) left in the rainbow to keep the lines properly curved. I also brushed out eraser crumbs that somehow made it into the scan. Having three brush-inked pieces under my belt that day, the lineart came out pretty much as desired, so no need to mess with it other than taking of some tiny spots where intersecting lines crossed a little too far.
Pencil on bristol inked with India ink+brush, and colored with Touch Three markers. Slight tweaking with Micrografx Picture Publisher 10. Single layer image, 24MB BMP scan.

She's also waded (without hesitation) into a mudpit past the tops of her boots and got it in the bottom of her hairdo, staying that way for the rest of the episode (as you can see in this promo clip
(you might be able to find the whole episode, understandably they may move around a bit)
