Am I the only one who noticed this amazing coincidence? Anyway, compared to a psionic kid with major anger management issues, a mutation problem, and a harbinger of Armegeddon, somehow polluted water, mosquitoes, 'roided Russians and a lying swim-jock doesn't seem like a big deal anymore.

"Kaneda is a bike gang leader whose close friend Tetsuo gets involved in a government secret project known as Akira. That's unusual considering it was such an influential movie. Many later movies were inspired by Akira like Terminator 2 and The Matrix. Maybe you should watch it. It's definitely not your average Anime, this is an ultra violent story with topics like government experimenting on children to create super-weapons and a teenager biker accidentally acquiring the powers of a God.
