This is a new character, Selonian Queen Inciens.
Selonian society is in some ways more like that of insects, rather than mammals. Their population is divided into subgroups, or dens, each specializing in different types of production. Within a den, the vast majority of the members are infertile females. There are a small number of males, and generally only one fertile female, a queen who serves as the leader and progenitor of the den. The actual level of control wielded by the queen was known to vary from den to den, as well as era to era.
Selonians are a very isolationist race, preferring to limit contact with other planets. Generally speaking, the only Selonians seen by outsiders were those who had been trained specifically to interact with other races, and that group was almost exclusively made of the infertile females.
Growing up, Inciens was tested and found to be infertile, joining the ranks of of her sisters entering training as a trader. With her training complete, she began to make contacts with other races to set up trade deals. It was around this time when she discovered that the fertility test had been a mistake.
This discovery put her in an awkward position, a grain of sand in an otherwise (mostly) smooth running clockwork. She met with the queen of her den, and refuses to repeat was discussed. But that very day, she met with one of her trading partners who was in port and struck a deal. The galaxy was always in need of skilled labor, and together they would provide it. She would supply the workforce, and her partner would supply contacts and a ship.
Her partner would be surprised to discover how seriously she took her half of the bargain though. Despite her condition, she insisted on doing other duties around the ship as needed, and was involved with all the business dealings as well. She was a queen, and would not be a silent partner.

Inciens gazed out the window of the bulk freighter as the planet dropped away below. A sadness tugged at her, thinking of what she left behind. She might return someday, but she knew it could never truly be home again, that opportunity had passed when she rejected the Queen Ashita's ultimatum. Looking down, following the familiar shape of the continents, she could just barely see the lights marking the den, vanishing below her.
There's a flutter inside her and her hand moves to caress her wide, swollen belly, feeling the litter inside.
"Ashita's den spanned many cave and tunnel systems," she whispers softly, patting her stomach. She raises her gaze from the dwindling planet below to the stars all around. Her expression changes, from sadness to determination, a fierce smile on her muzzle.
"But my den...my den will span galaxies!"

Whee! Its like the Minsk (sorta) of my Traveller campaign -
They started with only 7 members - 3 boys, 4 girls. Escaped their lab when it was going to be shut down, before they could be euthanized, and immigrated, got jobs, got spaceships, got an 8th from a side-lab that was operating independently with stolen genetic material, and now there's about 200 Minsk (my uplifted weasel race).
We're playing generationally, though all the original characters are still alive and active.

Her own kids. Once they're old enough, they have a choice of joining the company or finding other work. Due to the nature of selonian society and instincts, nearly all of them choose to remain and do whatever job the clan needs them to do.
The few who choose another path are considered to be weird, but still part of the family.
