I was always a fan of those little can shaped trimmer caps seen in European equipment! I had a 1950's era radio that came out of a console of some sort. It was 220V, so it was from overseas and it had those nice little caps in it and very tidy wiring!!! It also had the European style tubes in it.
I've also always liked those red, gold, and silver coated tubes!

Its funny, my very first Radio Shack kit was a 30 in one modular kit which was accidentally shipped to a local Radio Shack store in German.
I had no idea what it said, but I was able to make the different projects by looking at the pictures and diagrams.
