And the bandwagon claims another victim...er, volunteer. :)
Zootopia had a huge emotional impact on me, more than any other film I can remember...enough so that it's actually confusing. :/ I think Nick and Judy are just adorable (especially Judy :), and found their relationship very compelling. I haven't been able to get this film out of my mind, so here's a sneak peek of some Zootopia fanart I'm working on.
I believe this is my first piece of true furry art. My graphic arts experience has generally been limited to linear and geometric work, so I don't really have any practical skills in freehand drawing. If the characters seem stiff and artificial looking, it's because I designed one half of each character in Illustrator, then mirrored it. As for why they have their hands behind their backs...like Linus Van Pelt, I can't draw hands. ;)
Obviously, this is just a work in progress: the finished characters will have shading and fur texture, plus there'll be a full background. I also promise at least one character will have a hand. :) I just thought I'd post what I have so far and see what people think. Constructive criticism is welcome, bearing in mind this is just a first draft and a lot will change before I'm done.
Enjoy!
