XD not a fan of first person shooters?

I have no problem with first person shooters, I have a problem with a game that is so overly hyped and talked about like it is so overly amazing when it is just generic first person shooting game, absolutely nothing special or unique about it. That and most of the stuff in the game they just got from other sources including the incredibly generic master chief outfit and the story line.

weeeeellll, its the littlke things you can appriciate, and wen the first came out, there was absolutly NOTHING like it if you remember. so, in a sense, it a revolutionary game. it did have alot of new ideas and was really entertaining as far as multipplayer goes

Not really Brother, they stole the story from an old book called "Ring World", the Master Chief character is not only extremely generic, but if you ever played the old PS1 games loaded or Re-Loaded one of them had a boss who Master Chief looks like exactly except the original guy had black armor and a jet pack. It never had anything special that no other shooter already had, it introduced nothing new and took no risks. It was just cookie cutter sci-fi FPS yet it has somehow been praised as an amazing game.

hmm, never new all that. i guess it must be the entertainment value over the originality then. honestly wen i first played it there were certain things ive never seen before and i found it extremly entertaining, especially after reading all the books, it has a very indepth story that the book tie in and betwen all the games. the game must not be for everyone cuz you arent the only one that really disliked it. oh and one more thing, gravity hammer=win lol

I really don't think it is a bad game cause it isn't, it just isn't a good game either, it isn't the amazing game it is hyped to be, it is extremely over rated. As I said cookie cutter FPS nothing bad nothing great, just more of the same. I am glad that you didn't say that they didn't take the story from "Ring World" tho, that you didn't say that the story came from the books. I don't even know how many people I have heard trying to defend the story line saying that it came from the books. I just have to laugh at them considering the books came after the game, just goes to show how "smart" fan boys are.

theres way too much discussion over the game anyways, too many arguments. way i see it, you like it, or you dont. wat made me like the series most, is that i read almost all the books, and liked how the story goes a bit deeper than the games, and how the games tie in, i thought that was cool. but besides the books, yea the game was fun, but it wouldnt be that special to me if i hadnt read the books

Yeah, most games are better when they have comics or books to go along with them to fill in the story line because you can only fit so much of it into each game.
