Here I am, folks. Figured it was time to do a picture of myself as an Umbreon, by myself. It's been a while since I did something for -me-, so here it is. I'm Matt the Umbreon, known to all as Matt, Huli, Eevee, Squeebler, and countless other nicknames, but I will always be the same: Me. Next to me is the famous poem friends and family know me for, having written it 7 years ago during one of the loneliest times of my life... Hard to think I would still feel that way for an additional seven years... Friends come and go, times pass, and I see new people, but things always remain about the same... I wanted to get in touch with -me- again, after having played and had fun with so many people. It's only when you've hung out around so many people that sometimes you begin to lose touch with your inner self after a while, and so I disembarked on a short-lived trip to rediscover myself. Loosely based off of the one I did for a cute dear friend of mine (the Matt and Araiya pic), but purposefully meant to be drawn in a near identical style. This time I forgot to include my Lionheart necklace, so whoops. I wasn't ever really one for necklaces anyways, although I -would- have seriously put it in there hadn't I gotten to colouring it...
A loner of sorts, Matt is a character from my stories I wrote at around the same time as the poem. To tell the honest truth, he is the future father of Ellissa the Eevee, so look well upon him, and see where Ellis got many of her good looks (eheh... that was a bit vain... ><; ).
Matt -was- an Eevee, until he transformed. Obviously. But that's a long story that should be summarized quite briefly, so here I go...:
Matt lived his life not knowing who his parents were, or his siblings. Now, unlike the normal main character we see in stories who would be all "grrr I hate life cuz I have nobody I am an angry soul boo hoo boo hoo I'm crying cuz I'm lonely" sort of character, Matthew is... well, he's different. Everyone says that when they get to meet him, somewhere along the lines... He wonders where his family went... if they're alive, and... if they are... ...where are they? Why did they abandon him, if they did...? And will he ever find himself a place to call home...? Matthew travels this world (originally a feral Eevee) in search of these answers, while constantly climbing each mountain of the Appalachian mountain range, always looking to see what lies beyond that next mountain... "Whatever it is, it'll be the greatest adventure ever," as said by another character, named Bandit.
Matt meets many new faces. Some good, some bad, but all that teach him some of the most important lessons in life... and those would be... to live on. No matter what happens, you have to keep on living. Keep on pressing on, no matter how hard the trail of life seems... Days will come and go, and seasons will change, but as long as you're living, one thing will always be the same... You...
Matt became my alias for online communications when I just couldn't deny it anymore--no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't make Matt different from myself: He IS me, and likewise many of the events in his story have also happened to me. I guess you could say it's kind of... clairvoyance, in a sense...
Done as a random project when I got bored one day. I wanted something with a bit of zest, despite the fact I don't hardly smile.
