It was some LONG time I planned to make a drawing about it, but multiple reasons delayed it.
In addition, it is long I did not draw some military/political arts, once again I draw them in anthro style because I am more suited to this.
Who are the Kurds?
They are a people with a long history, a peculiar culture, language and traditions, having been denied self-determination by foreign powers for hundreds of years..
In the last decades, a left-wing political leadership reorganized and directed the Kurdish resistance. It generating multiple autonomous branches fighting against all the foreign powers like the fascist Turkish state (PKK) or the theocratic Iran regime (PJAK).
With the beginning of the war in Syria, local Kurdish established the YPG (People’s Protection Unit), primarily linked to the PYD Party (related to PKK and PJAK).
The YPG (currently operating under the coalition group named “Syrian Democratic Forces” and including also an Internationalist communist battalion (the “International Freedom Brigade”) represent a great hope for all the ones who cherish for a future in the region.
1) They are the only military force that managed to defeat ISIS in each single battle, expanding the liberated areas and thus contributing to the safety of the same European people (whose government controversially still engage in diplomatic relationship with the Turkish fascist state and the Gulf Monarchies, directly supporting Islamic extremists who openly ally with Al-Qaeda factions).
2) With the direct influence toward the Arab people living in northern Syria and north-west Iraq, they are the main open to prevent the Arab masses to fall into the luring ISIS propaganda of religious extremism, accepting instead a laic view of society: this laicism is the only way to shamble the Islamist rule from the roots. This is especially true for the role of women: the YPG has indeed an all-female side front who equally fight on the battleground and behind the front-line to improve the women situation in Middle East and make woman equal to man.
3) They established a self-governed region, “Rojava” (=Western Kurdistan) based on “Democratic Confederalism”: this political program (designed by the historical Kurdish leader “Apo” Öcalan, currently imprisoned by Turkey) switched from a hardline Marxist view, to shape a more adaptable and practical program enabling socialist politics merged with some merged socialist-green-anarchist-femminist views.
Comments and opinions are extremely welcome ^^

Well i really hate how germany act along with the turkish after all the comments the turkish president said. I wish they would cancel the contact to turkey and that they never come into the EU. AAlso Erdogan is now searching the contact to Putin shows that he doesn't really cares about the western world.
Well, that Erdogan (and the political class behind him) care little for the NATO parters is not a new story. But generally speaking that's Turkey: they were an important "chess piece" in the Cold War, but for example they had conflict with Greece (another NATO country, at the time also a military dictatorship).
The recent contacts with Russia could possibly means he's ready to abandon his islamist Syrian fighters, in exchange for reconnect economical ties. Or maybe not... for economy Russia is a partner Turkey can't give up, yet they keep to be opposite on the Syrian front.

Kurds have a long tragic history, and it's sad how they become notorious only recently...
However I could point also how there are kurds and kurds... the big change in the game, for certain specific kurds groups like the YPG-related, it's also what they try to implement as cultural and social-attempt: opening the people's mind to new possibilities.

Well, obviously...
I wanted just to point that they deserved recognition even BEFORE they become the main shield agains isis.
They are surprising for many other points also, for once the woman's role (especially these ypg related groups). Sadly these groups (ypg/pkk) have only expressed mild support for the LGBT because they sort-of expose some chastity-like behavior among members.
Still consiering we are talking of Middle-east it's a huge and impressive stance for the people of the region.

I am an atheist lol. And I am not a 13-years old kid (if that's your real age, considering that it's official the lower limit for Furaffinity) who sounds quite susceptible to local propaganda.
You started with a comment that can be either classified as 1) hatred toward the Socialist-oriented laic Kurds loyal to the KCK (Koma Civakên Kurdistan) who are struggling against ISIS, Al-Quaeda and the Turkish fascist state or 2) simple petty racism due ethnical reasons.
If you do not consider yourself religious, my guessing it's option 2). Are you Turkman of ethnic? That would explain much considering the Erdogan' propaganda to such community. However i also read you lives in America, and this explain your easy indoctrination and lack of connection with the local ground sources. That's funny, because could means you actually saw or talked with Kurds far less than I did xD
