When Gary Mitchell (by this time known as Curate Prime) took control of and changed the Federation into the Galactic Order, one of a handful of ships to stand against the Galactic Order was the U.S.S. Europe, an old Asia Class Cruiser. Captain Roberts and his crew join a group of freedom fighters against the Galactic Order and took heavy damage in a number of battles before being left as a lifeless hulk at the Battle of M-622 in which Curate Prime finally met his end.
